  • hmm… any hack to get an edu account?

    • +2

Anyone with school age children has access to one. You only have to ask them to click a link in an email, you login with your own non edu email to samsung edu store.

School or uni, can probs bribe the teenager next door

  • Same offer is available on Employee partnership program

    • Cheers! Thought so, they usually have the same offers.

I feel like getting something like a Brand New/Refurbished S20 Ultra 5G from eBay for $355-$450 is a better experience. Sure its just coming up to the end of regular software updates, but the screen, camera, quality and internals would be better than this?

    • +5

There's been better deals than this for the S23 and the Pixel 8 Pro, both of which present as better overall value.

      • Yeah absolutely, I ended up paying about 700 for a 23+ 256GB the last samsung promo.
Value isn't there for this one imo

      • +1

Agreed, but if someone specifically wants to buy the FE, this is one of the best deals out there atm.

    • How reputable is eBay though for refurb'ed phones?

Pixel 8 Pro for ~$830 is still #1 value proposition currently.

    • +1

if they've sorted out their overheating issues

    • where can I buy a P8 pro for $830 because ill get one.

  • Has anyone else's westpac store link disappeared from their app?

    • +1

      Disappeared

      • Ah damn, hope it comes back soon!

  • so 1099 to 779.20 , not half price , not good enough

  • +10000mAh Battery Pack

We know the internal battery is subpar so we're throwing in a bonus battery pack

  • Targeted Email just went out for an additional $200 Trade-in bonus.

    • Yes, I received a $200 additional trade-in discount code too, that makes it $400 trade-in discount.

      • that makes it $400 trade-in discount.

Only in the public store where base trade-in bonus is $200 off. EDU store is base trade-in bonus is $100 off ($300 off with targeted code).

        • Yes

        • Usually codes don't work on EDU website as prices are already lower.

If someone could confirm that would be great.

    • Could you test if that works at the edu store please?

      • +1

        Here's the T&Cs

Trade-In Bonus is only available for use at Samsung Stores, Samsung Online Store and eligible Enhanced Partnership sites and is only available while stocks last.

Eligible Enhanced Partnership sites is usually EDU and Gov store.

EDIT: Confirmed working in the EDU Store.

        • I am constantly getting this error "The code you entered did not affect your order. Please note, codes may only be valid for certain items or in certain conditions."

          • @abs898: Did you add a trade-in ID/Phone?

            • @RichardL: Yes, but without the trade-in ID. Just selected an s7 from the checkout screen. Tried in both general and EDU store

              • @abs898: No idea, just tested mine and it still works.

Does you code start with CSS?

                  • @abs898: Might be a different code, what does the email say?

I suspect it might be a Tab S9 FE Code.

                    • @RichardL: Are you trying with the tab or phone? I read the terms again now, it is for the tab FE

Looking at your screenshot it seems to be the phone.

                      • @abs898: It most likely like the previous promo. Code only works on the device specified in the email.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE code starts with CTT
Samsung Galaxy S23 FE code starts with CSS.

My email was specifically for the S23 FE.

    • Most of those won't work in the EDU store.

  • These S23FE have nfc right?
Can't really tell which models they give out here based on comparison sites

    • Does has NFC. (Confirmed via JB site and GSMAreana)

  • I need something to trade in for the trade in value right?

    • You can use any eligible phone to place the order, and if you don't sent the trade in phone, they will charge you $30/$60 as admin fees for not returning.

      • That raises so many questions.
I don't want to deal with it.

        • Have done it twice in the last two years.
          But good call

          • @abs898: Well if you have experience with it, i guess i'll hit you with them because someone else might need answers.
            1. is it $30 or $60, could it somehow be higher
            2. What happens to the phone trade in value, if you do a $5 phone, do you get billed $65? if you do a $1500 phone, do you get billed the whole device because you initially paid nothing? does it make the fee higher to do a higher value phone?
            3. When does the fee activate? is it after samsung realises you haven't sent it yet? can you activate it early like "yeah sorry im not sending it" and you dont have to lie awake at night afraid of the samsung mafia?
            4. how do you pay it, is there a debt system on a samsung account? do they cold call you for your credit card details? do they just email you a bill? what's the deadline on the bill? late fees?
And that's just what i can think of.
Can you tell i have anxiety problems?

              @Lief:

              1. is it $30 or $60, could it somehow be higher
It was $60 in 2022 and dropped to $30 in 2023.

Check the trade in terms and conditions to see what's Asurians admin fees this year.

              1. What happens to the phone trade in value, if you do a $5 phone, do you get billed $65?

Yes, they first charge you the phone trade in cost, in your case $5. And then the admin fees, as I said 30/60. Check what's the cost.

if you do a $1500 phone, do you get billed the whole device because you initially paid nothing? does it make the fee higher to do a higher value phone?

Fees stays the same. Trade cost+ admin fees. Value doesn't matter.

              1. When does the fee activate? is it after samsung realises you haven't sent it yet? can you activate it early like "yeah sorry im not sending it" and you dont have to lie awake at night afraid of the samsung mafia?

It's managed by a 3rd party, they send you 2 reminders from memory and then charge you. Several people on ozb have done it, several comments about it on multiple posts.

              1. how do you pay it, is there a debt system on a samsung account? do they cold call you for your credit card details? do they just email you a bill? what's the deadline on the bill? late fees?

Nothing, I have never been contacted, been 24 months.

And that's just what i can think of.
Can you tell i have anxiety problems?

I don't know how to say it nicely but if you were a mate of mine, I would have said if you are too much of a pu*y, don't do it.

              • +1

                @abs898: I was recently charged $60? Not $30

                • +1

@dm02: Thanks for confirming. They have been fiddling a bit with it. Changed from $60 to upto $60.

      • I have a phone with a cracked screen. The website says they wont accept that. Do I have any other options do you think?

        • +1

If you aren't planning to really trade it in, just say it's not cracked

          • @abs898: And just cop the potential $60 fee?
So the real discount becomes $140, rather than the $200 trade in discount?

            • +1

@specwarop: If you are using the special trade in voucher it will be $200 + $200 - $30/60

              • -1

@abs898: I dont think I received any special trade in voucher…
