    Moving
    (Korean)

    • -1

I heard that is based on a true story.

      • +3

Except those people were from North Korea making their way to South Korea and needed all their superpowers to survive being sliced and diced, with non-stop bullet holes ruining their fashion clothing. Not to mention being torn apart by a few anti-personnel mines.
Actually, that would make quite a good series now that I think about it.

      The Glory
      (Korean)

      • +1

Couldnt watch this after learning that the bully did some things to the extend of the show when she was young. Whys korea either no bullying or VERY brutal bully. theres no in between.

    One piece live action.

    • I was quite surprised after Netflix's other attempts.

I've heard good things about One Pace if you decide to get in on the anime

      • +2

Personally I like a change of pace

      • +1

Ah "One Pace" the speedy way to binge-watch your anime! 😉

        • +8

One Pace is a fan project that recuts the One Piece anime in an endeavor to bring it more in line with the pacing of the original manga by Eiichiro Oda. The team accomplishes this by removing filler scenes not present in the source material.

It's a fair amount of time saved -

One Pace is 45% faster to watch compared to the original One Piece anime. That's more than 137 hours saved!

          • +4

@ihfree: didnt know that was a real thing ;o

          • -1

@ihfree: Less than 10% of the anime version is filler (Only 97 of the 1070+ episodes).

There is zero chance you are getting through the show 45% faster unless you just skip massive chunks of the original story.

            • +2

@infinite: so many useless panning and reaction shots and flashbacks of stuff that happened a few episodes ago

              • -2

@follow: Flashbacks are a huge part of the original manga. It's integral to the characters, their development and the plot progression.

    • One Outs! It's an underrated anime about baseball.

    • I was so excited when I heard they got the Japanese VAs to do the dubbing, but when I watched it, it didn't match the live action at all, so I just watched it in English.

I'm just glad they didn't mess up one of my favourite series. Now I wonder if they could turn Hunter X into a good live action…Not that I'm asking for one.

    A Current Affair

I like watching reruns of "Today Tonight"

      • +6

        yesterday and yesternight

      • +1

        What about Hinch reruns?

        • +1

          Fast forward reruns

      • Stan subbing in for Dan

      • +1

I watch Frontline reruns. That show is golden.

      • I like watching reruns of "Today Tonight"

Ooo… Have you got the one about the feral houso family in VIC whose kids would steal other people's dogs and cats to claim the reward for returning them, who were given a rural home (I think in Shepparton) by the government because no-one wanted to live near them?

      • +2

The best part is at the end, where they show glimpses of what happens on Today Tonight, tomorrow.

    • +1

Any P-Platers hooning down our streets I should be worried about?

  • +4

    Insight.

If only the ABC could attempt to reach such standards.

  • +24

I don’t enjoy much free to air TV, but the one show I’m in love with lately is “Have you been paying attention “ love the host and love the guest people they have on. Good comedy and I get a decent summary of the news for the week. Tom Gleisner is a genius

    • +12

      Tom Gleisner

      Ivan Reitman is a genius

      (For any late show fans)

      • -3

        Ivan Reitman is a genius

        He's dead.

      • I looked him up, and your right, his good!

        • +2

I wish we could watch old seasons somewhere

          • @Moneyinthebank: Youtube had full episodes of The Late Show as recently as 2018. I grabbed a bunch but that HD crapped itself.
There is a Best Bits (Champagne Edition) dvd. It sits upon my shelf.

  • +3

I dont watch FTA much these days

but i just finished the Beckham Doco which was good

  • +9

Three Body (Chinese version) was pretty good if you, like me, are waiting for the Netflix version. I hear they are planning a spin off about the detective, Da Shi.

    • +1

      Just finished the books. Awesome

    • I read the books. There's a Chinese TV adaptation??

  • +10

Demon Slayer… Daughter got me hooked.
BEEF… was great., some was even relatable.
Shoresy… only just started new season.
    Fisk… great Aussie comedy
Peacemaker… A roll that actually make sense for John Cena
Barry… Interesting twist on the typical hit man genre
The Boys and Gen V… I like the idea of unhinged superheros

    • +2

Letterkenny is absolutely brilliant, started watching it recently and am 5 seasons in. Can't wait to catch up to Shoresy.

      • +2

        fell off big time 😭.
        shoresy is solid though 😁

        • That's a shame, although not really surprising. There's not a whole lot really going on conceptually and I already miss how fast they rattled stuff off in season 1.

Looking forward to being told to tug my balls regularly in Shoresy.

    • +3

Two thumbs up for FISK! Can't wait for season 3!

    • +1

I've seen most of those @pegaxs. I'll have to check out Demon Slayer, Shoresy and I'm sure I've seen BEEF (two people attack each other after a close car accident?).

      • +1

Yeah, BEEF is the tit for tat road rage that just gets way out of hand…

Demon Slayer is a Japanese Anime. It's not for everyone, and one of the characters can get quite annoying.

Shoresy is the offshoot of the character from Letterkenny (if you have seen Letterkenny, you know who…)

        • I've never heard of Letterkenny, I'll check 'em out tonight. BEEF wasn't amazing, but had a fantastic ending.

    • +2

Barry… Interesting twist on the typical hit man genre

I'd recommend Mr. Inbetween for a different kind of hitman show.

  • +8

    Taskmaster

    • I was very pleasantly surprised by how much I grew to like the cast of New Zealand season 4

  • +14

    Heroes season 1
    But not other seasons

    • The first season was truly one of the most enjoyable "superhero" beginnings stories I've ever watched.

      • Especially the hiro and nathan petrelli interactions
        Villain villain
        Flying man

    • This show could have been sooo great.. too bad it turned out the way it did..

    • Sylar was such an awesome intriguing villain… …in season one….. i wish they made a season two… ¶:Þ

  • +3

Not watching anything at present but earlier this year enjoyed Good Omens 2, and Alone Australia (needs more bears).

    • Yeah Alone Australia really suffers for the lack of predators. And the rules around trapping (understandably) really restrict what they can catch, no-one want to see a dead platypus. And also just not cold enough to get the shelters and stuff they build in the original, my other favourite bit.

  • +2

Did anyone notice Futurama just aired season 11 on Hulu?
    <sniff>

    • +4

Man season 11 is unfunny. Glad the cast and crew can keep making more money off it at least, same with zombie Simpsons, they have all earned the easy money for what they gave us in the golden age.

      • Would agree unfortunately. Ok at best to cringe.

        • My theory is that the soul of a good episode is quality writing, good joke writing. And a good joke writer commands a very high fee. As the viewership declined, and ad revenue declined, they could just not afford to pay writers a small fortune to keep writing 10 quality jokes per minute episodes.

  • +5

    Kin on SBS

    • Top call. Genuinely brilliant, and Clare Dunne is a knockout.
      SE2 looks pretty good too

    • SE1 ending was amazing!

    • That was great. Have to give it 10 out of 5!!!!

    • -1

It's got Little Finger from Game of Thrones in it. And that Irish actor with the birthmark on her face, it actually has a lot of relatively famous actors in it.

  • +14

    "Media Watch" on ABC.

    • -5

A nice idea but is there anything on ABC that isn't left leaning?

  • +8

Gruen. To learn about AD's and all the naughty tricks they (big business) play on us.

    • +6

Like the show, but Will is getting really annoying.

  • +1

Suits, wilderness, Yellowstone,, a lot of the British dramas are brilliant, fleabag plus live watching Chicago pd, seal team, Hawaii five o etc

    • -2

Suits is old asf. Can't believe people only got into now. Been watching it since 2011. I was rotating Suits, The Office, Supernatural and Breaking Bad whenever the new season came out back in the days.

      • -3

No, the sopranos or the wire is old af

  • +3

Na, nothing grabs me at all atm. I tried Mother and Son, but I can’t help compare it to Craknell and McDonalds. Barely interested in the News. I watch Hard Quiz to watch some contestants give Gleeson sh@t.
    Reading some decent books recently….🤷‍♂️

    • +3

I can't stand the new Mother and Son. It's just awful. The actor who plays the mother is good, but she's dragged down by everyone else. The writing is a bunch if meh.

      • +2

Have to agree. I watched an episode and while I never expected it to be like the original I really felt that good actors were let down by a mediocre script. I wasn’t going in for a second dose.
Thinking about it I might watch some of the old one……

  • +9

    The Last of Us.

  • +9

There are 2 distopian series on Apple TV that I love.
One is Severence and the other is Silo.
Both still just have 1 season out atm

    • -3

Silo is pretty generic. But I do like a mystery and a conspiracy. Though I hope the mystery isn't just keeping them in the silo because the people at the top like control and power.

Severance I like more because it's all mystery and conspiracy, and no filler.

      • +2

How is Silo generic? What other shows does it remind you of (I'd like to watch them)

        • +1

Reminds me of basically any YAF movie I've seen.

    • +4

Severance completely blew me away. In my top 10 i loved it so much.

    • Silo was not very good. Would not recommend. It strays far from the books in the reason of why they are kept in the silo and the acting was sub par.

  • +2

Severance was amazing. Watching The Fall of the House of Usher on Netflix at the moment. I don't usually watch horror but really enjoying it.

One Piece live action was really good. Made me start the anime.

If you like mockumentary style comedies, Jury Duty on Prime was really great. Interesting premise where one of the cast doesn't know that it's a show and thinks everything is real. Kind of like a mix of the Truman Show and The Office.

  • +1

    Chase UK.

  • Been watching all the Alone series , they are interesting..Only have Disney & prime trying to find a decent full series to binge watch .

  • +1

    Neighbours.

Cause every ozbargainer needs goooooooood neeeeeiiiighbours, with a little understanding!!

I mean literally. Just look at all the threads about bad neighbours.

  • +1

Recently binged The Handmaidens, it wasn't what I was expecting but good as different and moreish.

TV programming seems like it's over to me. 26 episodes a year is now 6 episodes and you have to subscribe to 4 different providers just to find a few shows (scripted) a week to watch.

  • +3

Succession just finished but it was fantastic

  • +3

    Foundation on Apple TV

  • +7

The Bear on Disney. Brilliant TV.

Watch it and thank me later.

    • +2

I watched the first 2 episodes, bloody hell, the yelling was stressing me out!

      • +1

It does get full on at times but there are quieter moments too. Stick with it.
