It can be back ordered, can select up to 30 units at a time.

      • Thanks @scrimshaw - Just noticed that, sorry.

it says 30w on each port, does that mean no full 60w on any single port ??

    • +1

      Correct. It'll usually state otherwise.

    Overpriced. Belkin is so overrated.

    • Can you recommend a better product with a better Warranty and Connected Equipment Warranty?

      • +2

And please dont say some random Amazon brand like Heymix

    • I agree on so many of their products, except the Belkin BoostCharge Pro Flex Braided cables, which they barely stock in Australia. They actually stand up to the hard wear I put mine through.

I had one port fail on this model after about 6 months, YMMV.

    • I’ve had mine fail twice. I was able to get a warranty replacement, but still a pain

Coles is selling 60 w PD desktop charger for $35.
That might be a better deal.

    This one.

  • I bought the 65w Gan version. Not sure if these are equivalent.

    Cactus here

These are very overpriced for what you are getting. It's almost not worth getting into the details and nitty gritty.

Belkin used to be an industry leader and a beacon of quality and consistency. Today there are just so many better options if you are just willing to look into places beyond what the most obvious and convenient are.

I don't get into this often but Id like to mention why low power high priced chargers I think are a complete waste of money and damaging to the environment.

Modern chargers are a long term investment and are much like computer power supplies. They aren't supposed to be replaced because there aren't things inside that should ever really be dying if they're of good quality.

I try to advise people get chargers that are rated more than they need, because by 2030 every device on the planet should be utilizing USB-C in most parts of the world either naturally or by legislative endeavors. So down the line it's not a question of whether you'll use and need it. You absolutely will. We aren't going in any other direction.

Having low power ports in the future is just going to be inconvenient for the end user, we have a system that endeavors to and is supposed to be plug and play and just work everytime. That doesn't work if you have to fumble around and find an appropriate wattage charger for your particular device… The goal is for it to just work and we are very close. We've been limited by cables and poor implementation but that's being phased out and is much better today. In the future the next issue is going to be devices being forced to slow charge because of low power ports from chargers that are still around today.

With devices only getting better and more efficient at utilizing higher power, it becomes not a matter of IF but when are these over priced low power bricks are going to turn into E-Waste if you are finding yourself needing to dig up high power ones or selectively be going out of your way to look at and choose ports on what is supposed to be a universal port where it just works.

I've been seeing posts of "deals" of 30w chargers with rrp of over $100 and now one of $50 and it's mind blowing to see on OzBargain.

You aren't getting better performance, quality, longevity or anything from Belkin units today. This isn't even a GaN charger and this burns 17% of your power being pushed through this through loss.

I will post a few reccomendations on units I think will last some time.

    • Wow. Awesome post. Love when ca tis shares his 2c.

      • i only buy the small 20w-30w chargers for things like powering table lamps, shaver chargers, etc. other wise it’s got to be able to charge. a laptop, if it can charge a laptop, it can charge a phone or power bank got a blitzwolf 6 ports 2 years ago charges everything, my phone tablet and macbook air. they are are all efficient as they are switch mode not transformer power supplies.

All of these are units I would reccomend, all of these (except the last unit which ill discuss further down)

Used and tested for at least 1 year or longer
Have a minimum efficiency of at least ~90%
Are able to do 100w on a single port
Have all relevant industry standard features for safety that I would expect
These may not be the lowest prices available, I was trying to link the model moreso than suggest buying from that link. It may be worthwhile looking around or waiting for a sale if you want.

There is also a special unit in there The last unit linked is a 300w unit that is the smallest volume/highest density charger currently available on the market. It's small enough to replace everything else and has travel adapters so you can use it anywhere. I'm still in the midst of running tests because this unit is so bleeding edge I don't have any data nor can I find any online, but so far this is the best charger money can buy that exists. It has a nice screen that also tells you charging speeds that's very convenient. Something like this unfortunately does get very hot and is normal for this unit. It's possible to have units that are completely unaffected by running toasty if they are designed well, but normally it's something that affects lifespan and so in the interest of transparency I cannot say that this will last a long time until further down the line.

    • Can u recommend brands/chargers that you think are worth it?

    • So we should be getting 100W GaN?

      • GaN is more about size, they are physically smaller. tech wise the smaller voltage drop across the chip makes the chip run cooler but the other parts of the circuitry no difference so they still run hot, some times hotter than old tech as less surface area to disperse heat. at home i’ve still old tech, have a GaN in backpack due to size.

      • Yes, they are more efficient, when comparing 1:1 which means it can be altered to have significant benefits in efficiency, thermals, size, performance, etc.

Theres no reason to get anything other than GaN for stuff above 65W

    • So which brand did you recommend? I can't see your deleted comments.

  • Great info..thanks Cactus!

The aliexpress links are broken for me..just me?

    • +4

If you paste the number, i.e '1005004709128061' into the Aliexpress search it comes up

    • +3

Sorry about the links being broken. OzB kept unpublishing the posts because I couldn't get the links on mobile to not be flagged as affiliate or with trackers of some sort and I can't edit it anymore either..

As someone else said if you search the numbers at the end up they'll come up.

Otherwise the brands are WOTOBE for the 65w and 100w+ variant and the last one will come up if you search 300w GaN charger. It's the only 300w GaN charger up until a few days ago, it's the one with multiple travel adapter heads.
