The portable charger is out of stock.

Bought 4 a few hours ago as spares.
    2 x USB A and 2 x USB C.
They were $8 on the shelves but only $6 at the checkout so the price has dropped even more.

  • Just got a portable charger click and collect from a Melbourne northern suburbs store

  • My local says not available for click and collect. But when I go to check stock at other stores, my same local is showing green light, in stock.. 🤔

I have this USB hub for almost 4 years now. Bloody good

  • I get these for $3 on Aliexpress, but $6 is close enough where I'd just grab it from kmart if I need one now

  • If you get this USB hub then don't try to run a portable hard drive off it because it's not a powered hub. Will be doomed to fail not enough power to spin up the drive motor. This hub is only made for low powered devices such as a keyboard, mouse, flash drive etc.

    • It has a barrel jack for 5v DC. It's a powered hub.

      • Oh that's great then. All you need is the right 5v DC adapter.

  • My 4 port A-A hub seems to be faulty.
When you plug it in, I get this notification:
    "Display connection might be limited
Make sure that the display port device that you're connecting to is supported by your PC. Select this message for more troubleshooting info."
When you select the message it takes you a Microsoft page "Fix USB-C problems in Windows"

SSDs attached to the hub via a USB adapter are not seen in windows. USB Flash drives are.
I tested with/without a mains power adapter and on both Win 10/11 machines, with the same results.

    Its very odd.

It might not be faulty. Probably the USB port on the hub isn't supplying enough power for the device. Because it's acts as an unpowered hub without a power adapter. Video display through USB-C is trying to pull too much power for it to handle when the hub is unpowered. Just not enough power current for some devices. You need to run it as a powered USB hub with a power adapter. It doesn't come with it.

You need to connect a 5v barrel plug adapter to the 5v power input on the USB hub. I'm afraid that's an added expensive.

In the meantime try plugging in say a USB mouse to see if that gets detected. If that doesn't work then it probably is faulty.

Thanks for the post OP, my hub stopped working today.

Remembered this post and grabbed a couple from my local.
