Thanks got one to drink tea and ponder how to obtain the next Galaxy Fold 5 deal.

  • The joys of staying up late to be first in line for a solid OzB deal.

No idea what tf fhis is. Buy i’ll buy it anyway.can’t rkae the money with me when I die, but I can be buried with my 17% off glass teapot.

    • +4

You don’t know what a teapot is?

  • Can we heat it over the stove?

    • Want to know as well.

    • +1

      Probably not. But why?

      • Use with tea leaves.

        • +2

Pour boiling water over tea leaves? What sort of tea do you need to cook the leaves?

        • +1

I've never seen anyone make tea like that (other than spiced teas, but they're better made in a saucepan anyway). Generally, you boil the water in a kettle then pour it into the teapot.

I generally save my small glass teapots for delicate loose-leaf teas (mostly green and oolong). The glass is easy to clean to avoid flavour build-up, so you can follow a strong oolong (like a baked Tieguanyin) with a delicate green tea (e.g. Longjing) without having the flavours carry over.

I got one a while ago. Arrived safely all boxed up in both Hario and Amazon boxes. Great lil teapot.

There’s this shape ( https://amzn.asia/d/ajyOBxt ) available too, not sure what the difference is except aesthetics?

  • +1

Does it have two layers of glass and keep warm like a vacuum flask?

    • +3

Doubtful: it looks like the kind of teapot that you'd place over a small flame to keep warm, plus I'm not aware of any Hario products that use double-walled glass

    • +1

      No

The original shape seems to be OOS now at that price, but both https://amzn.asia/d/d0tveR1 and the one DarkRebell noted above still seem like great value. Cheers OP.

  • Probably ended? I'm getting $34.50 as of 4h past time of post

It's not a bargain if you don't need it

    • +3

Oh, I need it, i needed it since i saw this bargain!!1

    It looks short and stout.

    • +1

Did no one else get the reference?! 😅

  • is it all glass, no plastic at all anywhere?

    • Yes not at all.

  • Qualify of these teapots is not so great. Keep the box upright when opening as the lid just sits loosely on top without any protection or cushion. Mine slid out when I opened it and shattered immediately. It is also engraved with "Made in China".

    • The "King of Glass" in Japan makes his glass in China!?

      • At least that's what's engraved on the tea strainer and I ordered mine from amazon.jp .

        • Is the glass part made in China too? Wonder if it's too late to cancel this order. What's the point of ordering an impractical glass object from Japan if it isn't even made in Japan.

          • +1

@AustriaBargain: Just had a look and there's a tiny "Made in Japan" printed on the side wall of the glass. But overall… the glass is quite brittle, especially around the handle.

            • @Meek: Well that's a relief. I don't know if drinking loose tea is even cheaper than tea bags, so I don't know if I'll even use it. I think it'll just look nice having it on display tbh.

              • @AustriaBargain: Drinking loose leaf tea is better than drinking most tea bags. The quality of the tea in a lot of the teabags available for sale (with few exceptions like T2, madame flavour) is typically the poorest quality tea, and for the brands that do sell decent tea in teabags, they are merely repackaging their loose leaf for you in teabags and charging you a premium for it. There's also a much bigger variety of teas available in loose leaf compared to tea bags.
