    Rather than books I would recommend you look at free online resources such as freecodecamp or the excellent Harvard CS50s Introduction to Programming with Python course on edX.

    It'll take you throught the basics - step by step how to get started.

    Not directly - that's like studying Mr Chew vs Congress and looking for a CEO role in a tech company.

    So true; "Junior Software Developer" … "If you have excellent technical skills and have demonstrated experience, click on APPLY".

    Coding is a bit of an art & really needs a fair bit of practice.
    If you're fresh & want a dev job working for someone, there's a few things you could try:

    • Doing some courses first will certianly help.
    • Find a software developer internship, ask for some work experience.
    • Join some collab open source projects on github.
    • Build your own portfolio,
    • Find some contract work.
    • Start with some junior roles - Helpdesk / Testing / Sys Admin.
