Is this just for new members? How do i sign up to this if you still have an existing membership?

    • +1

im an existing member and I was able to renew. The website wasnt happy today thought this morning - couldnt get to the payment page, was just a blank page, but i tried again just then and it worked.

      • Does renewing add onto the expiry date or did it reset it to today?

      • I tried renewing just now and it wouldnt let me. Went on the Chat and they said its just for new Customers only. Anyone know how to get around this?

  • +1

Cheaper buying from South East Asia. I paid ~A$399 with 2 free nights. Renewals are even cheaper.

Free nights can be used in Australia too.

    .

    • Worth posting a deal about it

      • +4

It's already there. I posted a while back

Much better deal if you don't care about where you signup. It has 2 nights. I personally value each night at $250-300 if you book at a 5 star especially across East Asia Japan or Korea.

Agree got Explorer plus for $261

          • +1

@smarter_fool: How did you get it for 261?

          • @smarter_fool: @smarter_fool I'm keen to know how you got it for $261 too please.

            • @MrFizz: Got when I was in Bali 1 week before the school holidays. I think there was a promotion going on Sofitel Nusa Dua. 2 nights stay plus and free access to club melisime for our stay.

Edit: My friend got the same deal (explorer) but with 1 stay plus night for $261 via the Malaysia Accor plus website

        • @abs898: Did you get your kit when you put in your Australian address?

          • @Vipers: Nope. I did reach out to support they said can ship only to a Malaysian address. Mainly it would have included coupons and card.

    • Can get any cheaper via VPN to turkey ;-P

      • Let's move Turkey to Asia Pacific first lol

    • If you initially bought the membership in Aust and then buy it via the Malaysia site, would you lose all your accor points ?

      • You actually won't be able to signup because your account will be stuck in Australia

  • So it's free 2 nights?

2 if you book through malaysian accor plus using a vpn. the extra person is also cheap and a good benefit in australia because the restaurants here allow 2 cards between 4 people to get 50% off the bill.

some asian accor hotels have their own deals which are worthwhile like sofitel bali but need to be there physically to apply.

if you want single night stay for ~200 the hong kong one offers it.

      • Thanks for the explanation!!

      • Yup the deal offered to me at Sofitel was just too good to pass, especially with club access for our 6 day alone was totally worth it. Slightly off topic but the high tea and the cocktail happy hour was thoroughly 'enjoyed'.

Check my comment above on how to get membership with 2 nights.

  • Are the free 1/2 nights any of your choice or is the availability reduced when compared to a paid booking ?

    • Significantly reduced at higher-end hotels. To stay at the Sofitel Darling Harbour, you'll need to book months in advance (and unlikely to find a Fri/Sat/Sun for $0).

Comparatively, you can book the Novotel nearly any night you'd like.

Much easier to find in Asia, we booked only weeks in advance at Mgallery.

    • Availability reduced from my experience, but still a decent range of dates to choose from. Peak periods (e.g. NYE, public holidays) are usually not eligible to redeem the Stay Plus complimentary night

      • +1

I got NYE at Sofitel in Wellington NZ once

      • Blackouts are pretty standard across the industry. Availability seems to have dropped because there are more demand now than supply

  • Wil I be able to get the 2 free nights if I booked this hotel in Gold Coast if buying buying accor plus membership from Malaysia (previous deal)

    • You can naver use 2 consecutive nights under one booking. Your best bet will be to make 2 bookings and let the hotel know to combine them or make a note. It's their discretion.

      • I was able to make 2 separate bookings for 2 consecutive nights in Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort (to use 2 free nights) last month

  • Darn it…..just signed up the Accor Plus a couple of weeks ago ; (

      Always check OBZ before buying

  • I noticed Accor Plus in hk has increased their rate so AU 25% off works out to be cheaper

Is it possible to check hotel availability prior to purchasing a membership?
