Baked Barramundi with Chips on Weekdays for $6 (Normally $11.50) Oct 15-31 @ IKEA (Family Membership Required)

1031

IKEA are offering Family members $6 Baked Barramundi with Chips meals Monday to Friday from October 15 to 31 in the bistro. They usually cost $11.50 without a membership. Wish this offer was also valid on weekends but it's better than no offer at all. Combine with 3% Cashback on gift cards from Cashrewards for a $5.82 feed.
May contain small bones. Barramundi from an ASC certified responsible farm.

And the queues for the $2 hot dogs at the exit!

    • Wrong month but if Scotty allows definitely then haha

  • Thought it said naked barramundi

  • Is the food actually any good there?

    • +2

just ate there today and it was good. just get the meatballs if thats your thing. its quite a small menu. i keep seeing deals after i leave haha

    • As far as American style cafeteria food goes, sure. It's not good though.

    • +4

Yeah but serving sizes be lacking

    • For the money, yeah. Better value than most fast food places and nicer food.

    • +3

It's passable. I wouldn't make a trip just for the restaurant, but if you're there already it's acceptable. The chips are surprisingly bland and tasteless.

    • Great value for money, food quality is similar to a pub rated 3/5 on Google reviews

    • Used to love it for the price. Especially the breakfast. A few years ago they killed off the breakfast and the rest has had quite the decline in quality and increase in price.

  • +2

So it's the free membership and show it at the checkout to get the discount price?

Can pay for meal using gift card?

      • +1

Marsden Park - all broken though. Not reflected on charge fox app

  • How much is membership?

  • Has anyone tried this? How is it?

  • +2

Can one person purchase 4 of these or do each of us have to sign up for the membership?

    • +3

You only need 1 family membership per transaction to purchase any amount of discount meals.

      • Thanks

  • Is it boneless

    • Comes with a disclaimer that there may be small bones, standard from most restaurants that serve cooked fish.

  • +2

None in Perth for some reason.

    • @Solario31 Do you mean that they temporarily did not have stock or is it that they did not have this dish on the menu, at all?

      • +2

Havent had it on their menu at all. Was a bit disappointing.

        • Thanks for info. Would be a good deal if available

  • +2

None at Richmond, so don't come looking for it. Please. Unfortunately the IKEA website does not understand that different stores do/do not range different products.

The food at the ikea bistro is bad

  • Can anyone confirm if it’s available at IKEA Springvale?

    • I feel like this is excluding VIC

    • yes, it's on their website, but in reality, most of the time when I went there, there was only very limited of choices avalible, no matter weekdays or weekends, lunch, teatime or dinner.
Half of the menu is always missing. extremely frustrating.

    • +3

Can confirm it’s not available at Springvale today

      • Thanks so much for saving me a trip

  • +1

    Small bones is deal breaker

Barramundi actually has far lesser pin bones (3-4) than other fish like Salmon (20~) or snappers (5-10) and they're towards the head end. So if you pick the tail fillet (flatter and more triangular/trapezoid), it won't have any bones. I'm not sure about imported Barramundi.

None in Rhodes, they’ve never seen it before and don’t know when it’s coming

    • Must be making it up, I literally had that exact dish at IKEA Rhodes (at regular price) a month ago.

      • Not sure but the guy insisted, maybe he’s new

    • Should have read this comment. Nothing at Rhodes when I went today

  • Not available at Tempe, they never sold Barramundi they said.

  • I'm starting to think they have advertised a special offer for a meal they don't even sell! It's weird because it's on their website and was also mentioned in an email that was sent to me yesterday, which was how I found out about it! I've sent IKEA a message to get some clarity.

    • any update so far

      • +1

They gave me an unhelpful generic answer and just said some stores may not have the stock required to fulfill the menu.

  • Not at the Adelaide store Friday 20th

  • If it's never in stock it doesn't seem like much of a bargain.
