Do you think my Amazon Prime delivery will arrive?

Hmm…I purchased a Roland F107 from Amazon Australia on October the 10th, it is expected to arrive today between 7AM and 7PM, however, they haven't yet moved it to shipping, nor taken the money from the credit-card.

Do you think it will arrive by 7PM?

No silly, do not order from Amazon Australia and expect them to honour it if it runs out in America.

That's like 3000 tiktok videos, so it would seem a long time for some…

      • They're now out of stock globally.

        • Sorry to hear. I feel personally responsible now.

          • @kiriakoz: Seems Amazon AU don't secure stock after making an order, but instead schedule a delivery date now, and if it's out of stock at that point, you are informed after the deadline is breached.

So, need to take that in consideration when making a purchase - if the arrival time is important, for a litte bit more money it may be better to go to a store sometimes.

  • No chance.

nor taken the money from the credit-card

This is a good indicator to say that you won't be receiving anything today.

Edit - I just looked at the Amazon listing and it says that it's "Currently Unavailable - We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock".

Your order will probably just get cancelled…..

    • Yeah that happened a day or two ago, when I made the order on the 10th of October (during the Amazon Prime Day) they had stock. I did curiously note that America didn't have stock though.

Wait, how do you know it's coming today if it hasn't 'Shipped' (If I understand what you wrote correctly). Doesn't it give you a 'Arriving [Date] between [Start Time - End Time]' when it actually ships? If it hasn't taken the money out then it hasn't shipped so you shouldn't have been told it's coming today?

Even if it's a 'Sold by, Ship From' third-party seller it would take money out upon the item being shipped and you would be reliant on courier tracking.

    • An an Amazon Prime member, I am provided with the exclusive service of being provided with an arriving date (of today), before they had yet shipped it. Sold by Amazon AU.

    Bezos said no

    • That's his standard answer unless he is getting a free BJ.

    • There's a helipad down the road, there's still time!

      • Ya Bezos wouldn't be delivering

Is that 2/3rds of a yes?

  • ask the chat

    • They said it's coming between 7AM and 7PM, because the system says it's coming between 7AM and 7PM. But I need to call back later.

    • The chat now says they're out of stock globally.

If you didn't get the 'it has shipped' email and the money hasn't been taken out, it is not coming today.

  • Seriously get on the phone to Bezos and demand this is not good enough. What kind of operation are they running there! A to zzz

    • Exactly! Where's my piano. I want my piano.

  • nor taken the money from the credit-card.
haven't yet moved it to shipping

    Not arriving today.

An estimate provided when you purchased it doesn't mean that it is arriving at that date. You have the tracker that shows it hasn't even shipped yet, so why do you think it's going to magically arrive?

    • Because, under "Your Account › Your Orders › Order Details › Track Package"
It states: "Arriving today between 7 AM & 7 PM"

New poll: Do you think the Op will update Ozbargain if and when the parcel arrives?

  • +2

    Did it arrive?

    • Nope. They're out of stock globally.

  • If the money was already taken out I would expect it to arrive.

  • +1

    and….. did it arrive!?

    • Nope, after 7 PM, it just updated to state:

      "Delayed, not yet shipped"

"We will email you as soon as this order ships, and we won't charge you until then. We apologise for the inconvenience."

I contacted them and they are now out of stock globally.

      • Oh darn…. Time to buy somewhere else?

        • For my situation, yeah. Otherwise it may take months or perhaps never as Roland may have cracked it with Amazon for screwing with their branding - we don't know.

I never realized Amazon Australia push their inventory risk onto consumers by just adding the sale to the queue and estimating from that a delivery date.

For low value consumerables this works, but for higher vaiue / low stocked consumerables this doesn't work so well.
