    no deal here..

  • It is hard to get a + on this since Bing Lee was selling them for around $265 each (delivered).

By the way, $25 Google Play voucher promotion ends soon (30/09/2012).

Also, people are expecting a 3G (maybe even 4G) version of Nexus 7 to be released soon.

    • $265 was for the 8GB version wasn't it?

    • Hopefully the next version will have the 4G and be 10 inch.

      • Which would completely satisfy the "cheap 7"" market…

    • Will the credit from existing vouchers expire? Got mine at launch but haven't used the credit.

Negative for me too, the service and specially after service support from Harvey Norman is below par. If you have any troubles, they'll not help you and make it as hard as possible to get any support.

Purchase from any other store would be worth it.

    • I've found them to be reasonable, I had a Kaiser Baas product which died about 5 months after purchase, KB support wanted me to jump through all sorts of hoops so I decided to take it back to HN and after an explanation of the problem, they gave a refund no hassles at all.

Perhaps it differs from store to store but you'd think they'd all be somewhat similar.

Not a big fan of HVN after sales service.

You must go back to the original store to get a full refund. There was once I bought a hard drive which has constant click click click noise. The lady refused to provide a refund initially because the hard drive can still store files. I tried to explain a normal hard drive shouldn't have that noise. Lucky the other staff agreed with me.

Each store is different and some stores do not know how to hold an item. I called the Preston store (one of the worst HVN stores) once to ask them to hold an item for me and they agreed. By the time I arrived (30 minutes later), I was told they sold the item. Did not even bother calling me.

Given that the PRICE (excluding our opinions on service) has dropped to 308, from a usual 314, for an Australian retailer with store presence this is a + from me. In this age you never deal with the retailer when there's a fault (beyond statutory 14 days), just the manufacturer or authorised repair agents.

And more pertinent right now since you must ACTIVATE the device by 30-Sep to get the $25 credit. So anyone getting deliveries from about now on will miss that.

    • I'm negging to counter you pos, this is a bargain site, the posted deal is not a bargain and you reasoning provides nothing backing it up as a bargain other than you like HN

  • It's $296 at my local Harvey Norman.

  • Google itself is selling this for $299

    • plus $25 delivery, though.
