How Much to Sell This System for?

Hello,

Have parts from two TF systems that a family friend wants to buy as a cheap entry level system. I was going to use it as a spare PC in the study (so I have an occasional but not essential use case for just not giving the parts away), but I am also very happy to sell it to them at mate's rates.

How much is reasonable to ask for this system (I will then discount it):

Ryzen 3500X
Biostar A320 motherboard
16GB DDR4 3000
240GB SSD (WD Green)
2TB Seagate Barracuda 7200 RPM HDD (new)
GeForce 1650
Mesh case with tempered glass (came with the TF R5 3600X + 3070 deal)
Budget PSU (came from TF Leaper case I think, a generic 550W?)

No keyboard, mouse or monitor.

They are not a huge gamer, they just want something to play the odd game here or there, including Valorant with my teenager. Eventually, they might look to upgrade when they have more money, but they can't afford a new $600 system (plus get peripherals) at this stage.

Thanks for your thoughts..

    $420.69¢

  • $400 - $450 seems reasonable.

Broadly similar to https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/790611, so baseline $235.

The GPU seems to go average $130 used (ignore the low profile listings): https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_nkw=Gtx++1650&LH_ItemCon…

It's a jank CPU with a trash motherboard. Not much upgrade potential there, given that board won't support Zen 3 (5xxx).

Hard to value the case without knowing which one it is, but that could be an easy $100 if it's a decent one. About the only part that might be worth carrying forward in an upgrade.

Yea the $400-ish estimates sound about right. Works okay as it is but a dead end for upgrades.

Family friend or mother in law?…

  • The real question is are the components current?

      • Correct. The important questions that must be asked when buying/selling a 2nd hand pc.

    • All the parts are bought in the last three or so years, some less than a year ago.

      From:

Tech Fast 3500X budget system (CPU, mobo, RAM and PSU, also SDD was a warranty replacement about a year later)

Tech Fast R5600x plus 3070 system (case)

Amazon (Barracuda HDD bought about a year ago, still in shrink wrap)

  • $150 for it. Cash.

    • $150 and a handjob no CIM ;)

  • Thanks for the advice.

Turns out the graphics card is a 1660 not 1650 as well.
