Not a 'brilliant' price I guess but cheap-ish none the less. Deal is ONLINE only, for one hour only tonight between 7-8pm.

$49 for the Garmin Nuvi 30.

Delivery estimate said $4.95 for me in melbourne metro east

  • Sounds cheap and a bargain, but "for one hour only tonight between 7-9pm." ?

    • sorry, time fixed

      • haha no worries :)

  • Is this any better than iOS 6 maps ?

    • my melway is better than my iOS 6 maps, at least the melway tells me the suburb name.

i can't comment on this model GPS, i have a Nuvi 50 and a higher end model

  • Seems like navigation tools are more necessary since Apple launch iOS 6.

  • I have used a Garmin in the past, worked really well. But now I have a Nokia phone, and its maps are brilliant.
GPSs = the buggy whips of the 21st century

  • good it's an online deal, could'nt find a DSE without one

  • what about maps update? Do they provide any free maps update in following years?

    • it's unlikely you'll get many updates at that price

from memory their policy was, if an update is released within three months from your purchase date, you get that update free. Double check that though.

    • Unfortunately Garmin currently only has lifetime map update bonus for Nuvi 40 and 50 if you purchase before 30th September. If you buy this Nuvi 30 in New Zealand then you can get the lifetime map update bonus.

I was lucky to get the Nuvi 50 from recent Jbhifi sale for $70.40, plus that map bonus :)

      • lifetime map update bonus

        who's lifetime though?

        • Not yours or mine of course. The GPS's lifetime that is :D

  • Limited to first 240 customers.

  • Just install Sygic maps on your android phone ($?) no internet required to use, most up to date and detailed sat nav i've used.

    • Sygic costs USD$33. If you only want Australian map on your smartphone, get MetroView instead for AUD$20.

Navfree is well….free. In terms of routing it is inferior to a dedicated Garmin GPS but it does the job OK for a free appplication.
