I like the BES, but starting to get frustrated by the channeling from the excessive pump pressure and the fact the water comes out from a fixed point behind the shower screen (should be a circle). Mine at 12 bar blows a channel in the same spot almost every time. Might try one of those metal filter grids on top of the pucl
Hopefully they have sorted the outlet and the OPV in the current models.
Is this why it's impossible for me to use bottomless filter with it, apart from the times I use only the lower, pre-infusion pressure?

Can get a bottomless double shot reasonably good, but single shots are.. almost impossible. Ive gone back to a pressurised basket on this. Sunbeam Barista max has a better water delivery system, but the rest is rubbish. Even the pro Hoon's Cafe on Youtube gets channelling. Going to reduce the OPV and see how we go (but it basically directs excess pressure to the bottom tray). So I feel this will frustrate me with a full tray every coffee. If thats the case I'll dim the pump.
