Generative AI is going to kill off these sorts of services over the next 12 months, which is probably why they are reducing their price.

Don't be so sure. While AI is going to kick butt in developing code, it's going to require knowledge to generate CORRECT code. It's still more important than ever to understand the code that's being created/generated which is what these services can teach

      • As a learning tool, ChatGPT and similar services will kill your Udemy's of the world and courses like this.

So no one is going to be writing code in 12 months? The future is a little further away than you think…
Who is writing the generative AI?

      • Not sure the users these sorts of course are targeted at will be coding anything groundbreaking. They are great for getting a basic understanding of programming language, which tools like ChatGPT will be free and frankly better for targeted learning.

        • Well no its not complex code but that's a silly reason to dismiss the course. Everyone who writes code, including the people who wrote ChatGPT, had to start learning somewhere with some kind of structured learning. ChatGPT won't teach you anything on its own.

  • Is this the best bet if someone wants to learn python? Thanks.

There are lots of similar services out there but to be honest Codeacademy is the best one. It's been years since I used it but I found the way it guided you through really helpful for knowledge retention.

Code Academy and DataQuest seem to both be quite popular.

      I prefer DataQuest.
