Well that was fk'd, the page hung at 6am and by 6:01 when it finally loaded said oos.. definitely seemed like a bot move

    • -2

      It started at 9am.

      • +1

They are in Perth. So 6am their time.

        • +1

          I see!

        • Thought I'd stand a chance with the offer being early and Optus being down.. nope!

      • I think the person is in WA.

        • Yes, as already pointed out by @cute as duck

  • +2

Thanks Optus, didn't even get on to the website to share in the disappointment

  • Optus outage meant my SMS OTP never reached me. Too late to realise.

  • Spammed refresh, no option to add to cart for a number of refreshes after 9, couldn't have been 5 seconds between previous refresh where you couldn't add to cart and adding to cart and hitting checkout. Just luck as to whether you were one of the few who refreshed at the exact right millisecond. Likely actually sold out in under a second once they finally got it live.

  • +1

I will never trust this company again, what a scam!!

  • everyones talking about getting to at least add it in their cart and missed during check out while I didn't even get a link sent

  • Where’s ACCC to investigate this?

I believe not having enough stock to support a promotion, or to collect data is a breach?

    • Where’s ACCC to investigate this?

You need to make a complaint for ACCC to even consider investigating.

      • Mmm and usually they treat it as if you've personally been affected, and want you to try negotiating with the company yourself first to rectify things. They don't tend to contemplate general complaints about scams.

    • Your existence sounds like a breach of you're complaining about a silly blanket lol

      • Why don't you gift me a silly blanket then?

    • LOL….

  • LMAO!

  • +2

I agree with the other negs, complete farce, purely designed to funnel people into their Black Friday sale, when item was in cart, the supposed BFBLACK discount code disappeared and checkout value was $108…then it was gone. Ridiculous, but unsurprising from this brand. Revoked my positive vote

    • +1

exact same thing happened to me this morning.
Was going to look here to see if it was basically a scam

  • +1

Instantly got through, as soon as I entered the coupon code it was sold out. Wondering where the people who managed to nab theirs are located? It seems the offer possibly went live at slightly different times for different people?

  • +3

It's 1,500 distributed evenly across six regions so that would mean everyone was competing for a stock count of 250 rather than the full 1500.

    • I can't believe Tasmania's 250 pieces were also snapped up in 30 seconds.

      • They have sites for different countries, so 250 for the Australian site.

        • But I think they should have given us a chance to choose a region or enter my postcode before directly suggesting it was sold out.

          • +1

@EarningOzWay: Just defaults to the Australian one based on location or you specifically went to oodie.com the other sites are like oodie.ca
Either way, the Australian site allocation was sold out.

  • -7

Why is the Oodie Twitter page full of trans tweets? Now I am glad I didn't buy one

  • damn thats so quick. heard it sold out asap - hope everyone got one haha

  • +2

No link was sent which was promised after signing up, no chance to even try.

  • I was in line to check out for 10 mins and then it was sold out

  • With the number of comments coming in on this page now, I'd believe that 250 per region sold out that quickly, but still, yikes

  • +3

I got debited $109. Lol what is this

    • I posted this above. I noticed it went into my cart at $1 and then went up to $109 in the payment. Either it sold out or you were expected to put in a code which I subsequently found out was BFBLACK . I didn't know so I cancelled

      • Interesting, my code auto applied and I just hit pay. Though I used ShopPay which may have helped? Not sure.

        • I suspect it was probably in the period when it was in the just sold out period that this happened as it perhaps had already used all the auto allocated codes so system stopped applying in at checkout? Hope people who paid $109 can get a refund at least as that is rough!

      • The code was already auto applied.

        • Yes I know sucks! I terminated as wasn't sure if I wanted to take the risk?

          • @marketingpolice: I just filed a dispute with my bank. Even the invoice they sent me shows $1 and then i dont know why they debited $109.

            • @monks: $109 was the full price. That is good news the invoice showed $1 strong case then.

              • @marketingpolice: Also noticed they have a 30 day return policy so worst case return it. if the bank dispute takes awhile as you don't want to miss return window. Wonder how many people this happened to as my son and I both had the same.

            • @monks: No hurry actually, wait for it to arrive first. With the invoice u have no chance of losing the dispute and you can actually get it for $1 including free shipping. How nice.

      • +3

Update: they debited $109. Refunded $98 and I get to keep the oodie. $1 + shipping

  • They tricked us

  • +1

Scam, both of us are same story, 9:00, 10 seconds, 2 different devices, in queue, then kicked.
Don't forget to unsubscribed from their emails!!

  • same, was "in line to check out" then——boom all gone.

  • +1

Stay strong folks, don't fomo buy it for $54.50!!

  • +3

i literally just made an account to say; i signed up on 4 emails, got no notifications/emails, text about the deal. what a scam.

    • Are you with Optus ? They are down apparently

      • im with aldi mobile, however even if that were the case, that still doesn't explain 0 emails.

    • When did you sign up? I signed up a week ago and got the email notifications. My partner signed up last night and didn't get anything.

      • maybe about 2 weeks ago? i remember telling some friends about it and i was thinking it was about 12+ days away ago (on the day i signed up). edit: yes i checked spam too

  • +3

Thanks got 2 [minutes of pure disappointment.] Lucky I didn’t even bother, I’m only disappointed that you guys missed out 😂

    The Oodie -🖕🏽🖕🏽

  • not the same, but you can grab an ovela oodie clone from kogan for ~$15 in either pink or yellow still if you need one. free delivery with kogan first.

  • Added to Cart and got message : Your cart is empty

  • Scam just to get your email address. So disappointing.

  • +2

I got one, prelogged into Shop Pay and just refreshed the page at 9am. Promo code was automatically applied

    • Same 🤙

  • Clicked through the link they sent in the email with a count down clock at 8:59:40 and keep refreshing by 9:00 saw the option to add to cart with coupon code applied. Quickly paid using Paypal. Successful placed the order for the total of $10.99.

    • +1

Same. I clicked on the link around 8:59am and just kept refreshing until the deal became active. I logged into my account prior to the deal starting so I already had my address and card set up with ShopPay too so I was able to do an instant check out. Took me about 5 seconds to add to cart and pay.

  • Got in at 9:00 on the dot, added to cart straight away and then it tells me my cart is sold out (also at 9:00). What a scam.

  • 🌝

  • The other thing that was scandalous is that the countdown was different for different people by about 20 seconds! Now that is really not fair!

  • +2

Waited 2 weeks to be disappointed, worst deal of the century

  • Yeah what a scam

  • Oh well, there goes another disposable email address. SCAM.

  • +3

Added to my cart, gone in less than 20 seconds like all you peeps. Bit frustrating. This could violate section 35 of Australian Consumer Law - AKA Bait Advertising:

Bait advertising is the practice of offering items for sale at low prices to attract consumers to a business. Bait advertising can be a legitimate form of advertising. However, it is illegal to engage in this conduct where goods or services are advertised for sale at a discounted price, and they are not available in reasonable quantities and for a reasonable period at that price.

    • 20 seconds are not reasonable period, report it.

  • Nice one oodie 🤡

  • +1

    Such a waste of time.

  • +1

I just received an email for Oddie.
    It’s a spam email. FFS.

  • +1

unfair and dubious. Attached link does not work and there is no SMS reminder for this going live. [Not on Optus!]

  • Im surprised the website didnt crash

  • +2

out of stock 10 seconds after it was available

  • Scam

  • Webpage now ranked top sites on google for oodies

Nice way to drive traffic to increase ranking

    • thats the idea !

  • logged in at 9 sharp. could not get one. oos. complete scam

  • Got one, thanks OP!
    Definitely not a scam..

    • I am glad that some people got one. But unfortunately a lot of people didn't. The ads were way too many on Instagram and Facebook so I am guessing that's why stock lasted not even a minute.

  • +1

Scam…gone in less than 30 secs

  • -4

if anyone is not using it, can you please pass on to me.

  • +1

Opened the webpage at 08:28 (Adelaide), refreshed webpage 08:29:45. Refreshed 2 times no changes to the webpage. Refreshed three times from 08:30:00 to 08:30:10 still no changes. Quickly jumped to the homepage to see if it’s a different webpage to order, got back at the original page at 08:30:15 and it said Sold out then. Good job to the people who got it.

  • +3

at approximately 9:00:20, the button was up (after refreshing constantly), added to the cart, it showed $108, then clicked checkout and it said sold out.

This is the worst run "event" ive ever seen, just clickbait and scam.

    • Could be worse you could have paid for it at full price then have hassle of disputing it/returning it?

  • +1

Most certainly less than the allocated amount, ready in perth @ 6am, instantly in the que and showed sold out at 10-20 seconds. dishonest advertising.

    • +1

Someone said it was 1500 across all the various countries/regions oodie sells in, making it 250 per.
So that would make sense to me.

  • They have done a Cheap Performance Testing on their website

  • They sure love to spam on SMS

    • Yeah I was tempted to put my phone number in there too…

  • Mines already been shipped!

  • +2

this went exactly how I imagined it 😂

  • +1

lol I got mine on the dot. No dramas

  • Mine has already shipped, pretty happy with their service 👌
