What benefits does this have over a PS5, which I can also afford?

    • +2

better playback with dolby vision and hdr10+

    • +3

Smaller. Get the ps5 no eyes can tell the diff.

Yeah wouldn't want my friends gossiping about the PS5. "omg did you see how big it is? Totally disgusting. Should have bought a slim dedicated player. AustriaBargain is a total joke of a homemaker to have that ugly thing visible to people".

    • +2

      It isnt ugly AF

Doesn't result in idiotic questions on every SSD deal?

    • Good to combine with those Ultimate cards we're all hoarding. Need a decent 4K TV first though.

    • Not a bad deal at all, I think I paid that much in 2021. This thing seems to hold price better than a PS5 😅

    • I’m probably late but it says coupon expired.

      • Yes sorry

What’s the summary of that comparison?

Knowing Linus, he probably didn't even bother testing them, just made up the conclusions.

      • Dolby Vision makes a noticeable difference, and isn't supported for Ultra HD Blu Rays on the PS5 or Xbox Series X.

        • Netflix supports Dolby Vision on xbox.

          • +1

@Damonator84: But it isn't supported for Ultra HD Blu Rays. Which is what we're talking about here.

Streaming is arguably inferior due to its low bit rate. 20mbps Netflix vs 100mbps UHD Blu Ray, assuming you're even paying for the Premium Netflix plan.

@jammy2006: People that pro-streamers don't appreciate what a disc brings until they are viewing from physical media. I'm pro physical media.
You see it time after time on these posts.
But it is sad that Sony and Microsoft don't support HDR10+ or Dolby Vision for their bluray player.

  • I had so many issues with this, as have others on various forums.

It just randomly decides to not properly power the unit and the light stays on but nothing works.

You literally have to unplug from the wall and start again. Probably once a week this happens.

    • I've had 0 problems in exactly 24 months, YMMV
