Need Guidance on Buying iPhone 15 Pro Max with Gift Cards for My Wife's Birthday

Hey legends,

I'm in a bit of a pickle and could use some guidance. My wife's birthday is coming up, and I'm dead set on getting her the iPhone 15 Pro Max. She's been going on and on about it, and her current phone has kicked the bucket. She's even using an ancient dumb phone in the hope that she might get the iPhone 15 Pro Max as a birthday gift.

I've heard whispers of a 15% discount using gift cards, but I've never used them for a purchase before. The links I found on OzBargain seem to be expired, and YouTube hasn't been much help either.

I'm a bit of a newbie in this gift card game, and I don't have a tech-savvy friend to guide me. Can someone share some tips on how to use gift cards to score a discount on the iPhone 15 Pro Max at JB Hi-Fi? I'd greatly appreciate your help, and I promise a virtual Aussie high-five and a cold one in return! Cheers! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

The 15% discount is not readily available anytime you want, but it's compounding several offers throughout the year buying discount cards to then buy other discounted cards etc and then cherry on top if get somewhere like Officeworks to price match a competitor's offer.

5% is generally the mainstay discount through corporate platforms for places like JB HiFi.

Depending you shop in woolies much or not. Currently Woolies is doing 20x points for TCN gift cards. Thus technically 10% off. Yes you still need to pay full price for the gift cards, but you get to use the points to pay for your Woolies groceries down the road.

Once you have the gift cards, just bring a stack into JBHiFi and get your phone and pay by those TCN gift cards.

  • Whenโ€™s the wifeโ€™s bday, if itโ€™s a few months just wait Iโ€™m sure a 15 or 20% off gift card deal will come along, maybe 1 more before Christmas season? Once the gift card deal is out, buy the $ amount you need for the phone, pay X% less then head to JB or Officeworks and buy the phone using the gift cards.. simples

+1 internet point to you if JB or officeworks price match a competitor and you get it even cheaper!

    • Usually there's 10/15% TCN cards never seen 20% off unless you can provide links ??

  • You should have stocked up on those cards that work at Officeworks.

    Hey all,

I wanted to drop a quick thank you for your awesome advice. Following your guidance, I managed to buy 22 gift cards worth $100 just $90 each from Coles, ultimately securing the iPhone 15 Pro Max at JB Hi-Fi. My wife's going to be over the moon, and it's all thanks to your fantastic support. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

But here's the thing: I've heard some folks talking about a savvy strategy of buying Apple or JB Hi-Fi gift cards with Ultimate GCs and then using those to purchase an iPhone. Does anyone have insights into why this strategy is so popular? During my recent visit to JB, I even inquired with the operator, and she seemed positive about using Ultimate GCs for JB GCs. Should I consider buying more GCs from Coles and converting them into JB or Apple GCs for future use?

I've got a pretty good grasp of using gift cards for discounts, thanks to your advice. Now, I'm eager to kick it up a notch and maximize these gift cards for even more savings. If you have tips on stacking different types of gift cards or any other strategies, your wisdom would be like striking gold. Your insights are greatly appreciated! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

    • Does that mean Coles currently have 10% off on gift cards?

      • Sorry mate, it was until 31 Oct.

    • Were you able to find the answer? How to use Ultimate GCs for Apple/JB GCs and what's the benefit?
