last year $35 on black friday.

    • Yeah I've noticed there's been a sharp rise. Glad I stocked up but am running low.

      Need a 5w30 FS with a good detergent additive that's 35 or <

  • Mycar filled my Cerato 2.0 NA engine with this for my last logbook service and this is smooth as. Highly recommended.

  • Not worth it at this price IMO - Consider Nulon 5w30 LL which I believe may still be on special atm.

Does anyone know how to navigate the Autobarn website with regards to searching for items that fit your vehicle?

I see the option to search & set your vehicle, and when you browse you can see if an item is 'suitable' for your vehicle, but you cannot filter for suitable, nor does the website display suitable items only.

SCA & Repco have this functionality and it works really well. I avoid Autobarn specifically because the website UI is disappointing.

    • how to navigate the Autobarn website

Their web site is a total mess, I did a Google search and found Castrol Edge Euro Cars (much more expensive) but it does not display when I do a manual search on their web site.

  • its the cheapest I have been able to find it for a few months now

It was $43.99 from SCA earlier this month

    • Still too much!

      Is this one better

Oil manufacturers have made it so confusing by labeling synthetic oils (in this example) in many different ways and different labels which also change by country to country.
Both Castrol and Shell (Australian distributors) have done a great job by making a mess around with confusing and misleading labels so it's hard to understand which one is better than the other.
For a start point look at your car user manual and check what oil specification is needed, most probably they require ACEA A3/B4, A3/B3 specification.

    • Nope, but using cheaper oil like the one you mentioned (or worse) & changing it more regularly (every 5k) will be much better for you car overall.

I'd only recommend buying edge oil if you have a high hp engine.

  • This looks better (cheaper):
    https://www.repco.com.au/oils-fluids/engine-oils-fluids/engi…
    5 of these=$30
Seems to be doing the job if the engine is compatible.

Agree. Ozbargainers should be driving Toyota Camry 1998 so doesn't matter what oil. UNLESS you are driving a high yield investment Merc.
