samsung is having a monitors sale this friday + ~10 or 15% off via samsung shop at the end of november. Why would you not want to wait?

    • Ohh nice, thank you for that info! Anyone else see any good deals coming let us know! I am after this model

    • If this is referring to the Samsung shop direct store online we may find ourselves waiting months more after the listed ship date

      • Heard the after-sale service is quite poor also.

Just note that whilst you can always rely on the Australian Consumer Law with your purchases, Samsung have not explicitly clarified whether their warranty covers burn in and/or image retention. If you speak to different representatives they will often provide different answers.

There also seems to be wake from sleep bugs but can anyone confirm if these have been patched?

Otherwise it's a good display and well recommended by HUB but there are cheaper options available.

Edit: $1769 doesn't seem like an exceptional price given previous sales

Wake from sleep bug is still happening with DP cable. No issue with HDMI cable on Nvidia card.

Got mine a month after launch for ~$1500 so definitely wait for better deal if you can.

      Classic Samsung QA lottery

  • High refresh rate plus charging over usb c.. not enough monitors have this…

These monitors can use 200+ watts, you'd need a specialised USB C wall plug, at which point it's just an expensive AC cable that can fall apart

    Too dear imo, hodl

  • At this price you'd be angling for the $2000-$2100 offers for the 240Hz 32:9 version.

  • How would this perform compared to Apple Studio display - understand size and costs differ a lot.

    • 16:9 5120x2880 vs 21:9 3440x1440 for a start, completely different experience using them.

Same vertical height but more horizontal room, works well for productivity for many people.

  • My key use is Starfield. Should work damn well for that

Just make sure you have a GPU that can push that many pixels.

Love my 3440x1440 (paired with a vertical 2560x1440) for work, but my 5700XT sure struggles pushing that resolution unless I crank down settings. And there's no way I can justify something more powerful with GPU prices as they are now.

This monitor has been frequently on sale for $1599 in the past.

  • I bought one of these from Samsung Store for $1439. Waited 28 days for delivery, got the monitor unboxed and found it had intermittent faults. When it did eventually power on I thought the image was pretty damn average looking considering all the reviews says its great. I returned it for a refund (which I received about 2-3 months later). YMMV.

p.s. I ended up purchasing an Asus PG42UQ which I find so much nicer looking.

  • This is not a bargain. It was $1599 not long ago.

  • this was selling for 1499 on prime day
