    Those reviews about buyers getting incorrect storage sizes (in different countries) doesn't instill a lot of confidence… having said that, there's free 'change of mind returns' so might be worth the gamble?

      Regarding the AU review, I think that the 4TB it refers to is the "flash memory size" where both the 2TB and 1TB version has 4TB listed.

      I can't see another review saying wrong item received. The Japanese one (according to translate) says that he cancelled the 2TB and got the 1TB instead. Because he was origiinally concerned that the 1TB won't hit the advertised speeds. (This does use pseudo SLC cache, so speed will degrade as it fills up and larger SSDs usually have been performance as it can do things in parallel)

    Recommended good value heatsink to pair with this? Reviews seem to indicate it runs super hot and thermal throttles without one.

        Any chance you could run the Phison NVMe Flash ID utility and let us know the flash type? Kioxia 112L TLC or Micron 176L TLC? Hoping you get the better one: Micron 176L TLC. Single sided so it is quite likely to be Micron 176L TLC.

        Once you finish running the utility, sometimes, the utility places an exclusive lock (in order to read the NAND details) so you will need to fully shutdown you PC and turn it back on to release the exclusive lock.

            @overcoat: Thank you, looks like it needs to run flash_id2 to read the details, but since Nand vendor is listed, looks like it is Kioxia (Toshiba) 112L TLC. Well known NAND type. WD uses that a lot in their products.

      Relax, it can take weeks or months even. They will either send it eventually or cancel it. You can cancel at anytime.
