    iPod Control

Is this via the USB? Will it control an iPhone 5? or is bluetooth a better way to go?

    • The iPhone 5 was released after this one was made so I have not a clue! Only one way to find out lol.

I have this headunit and it tells me that my iphone4 is not a compatible/recognisable USB device or something to that effect so I just use a sandisk Cruzer Fit. Bit dissapointed that it will not even charge my phone.

  • Just realised this is a dupe

I see what you did there.

  • When are they going to just put a SD card slot in the dashboards of cars ffs, surely we're there by now.

    • Some Audis and VWs have them already. The problem with stock systems on most cars is that they sound awful. And you can't easily replace them nowadays. Sigh!

      • Yep, sound system in my last 3 cars have been completely integrated. It's always possible to replace them but with how they're tied in, it would be crazy expensive and would lead to all sorts of other issues I'm sure.

I have a van and the Blaupunkt factory unit clapped out, got some $70 cheapie with USB and SD slot and it's great, keeping in mind I'm just using the 2 standard speakers in the doors, would be a different story in a sedan I'm assuming.

The SD card sure makes things easy when it comes to arranging a playlist for a trip, something I would dearly love to have in the car(s).

    • the head unit I bought from Aldi ages ago I bought because it had an SD card slot. Unfortunately the sound/build quality/display/layout were all awful. oh and the fact that occasionally it'd just swap inputs away from the SD card for no reason and switch to radio.

  • back to $99 now

    • Phew lucky I added one in the cart from yesterday haha

    • Will upload a receipt after i've picked it up if anyones interested in trying to get a price match
