  • Just about equivelant to an rtx 3070 in raw performance except no ray tracing and no dlss.

Dare i say a used 3070 for $500 sounds more appealing than this?

    • +17

No way, also the 3070 struggles with only 8GB VRAM.

      • +5

        Ehh, i have a 3070.

        It struggles at 4k.

        1080p and 1440p is great.

        • +5

          7650 isn't a 4k card IMO.

        • +2

I think some games even struggle at 1440p/1080p, Daniel Owen on YT demonstrates it a lot, usually texture loading issues, where the textures will be all blurry (not loaded).

It's like a trick to get around the inadequate VRAM in order to keep a decent FPS.

Even the much cheaper but sufficient VRAM AMD cards had the high res textures fully loaded at all times in comparison.

          • +1

@Grish: It's just a few very specific, unoptimised games, but yes. Last of Us, Hogwarts Legacy, and one or two others at 1440p and Ultra textures. Definitely worth a consideration when buying but by no means a deal breaker.

    • You can get a used 3070 for less than $400 these days on marketplace. Bought my 3080 12gb for $580

      • Yeah I just picked one up for $400. Plenty more where it came from too.

      • That's the downside of amd not being as popular. If there was more on the market you'd be able to get a 6700xt used for $300. Instead they go for around 400 which is where the 3070 lands anyway.

        • Yeah… Less demand = higher price… Just economics doing it's thing!

      • Depends on where you are maybe. I'm near Melbourne, most of the 2nd hand 3070s are 450 and above.

    • +8

who wants a 8GB card at the end of 2023

      • +1

Have you actually encountered real world issues from only having 8GB though?

    • +2

You can get a used 6800 with warranty until 2025 for $490 on eBay right now. Outperforms the 3070 and 16gb vram. I'm sure you could find one even cheaper on Marketplace.

  • +1

Are they still producing these? Or these are unsold stock?

    • +1

      Unsold stock for sure

  • +2

    Historical lows was around $470?

  • +2

I have an XFX 6700 XT Merc. Can't fault it.

    • +2

      You sure there's been sub 500 6750's? I've seen a few 6700XTs before

    • +6

Let me know whats on the market for $500 NEW that's better? .. I'll give you a +1 :)

      • +3

I love backwardsness of this community when it comes to GPU's. GPU's post below rrp? Neg it cos GPU's shouldn't be that expensive, but you lads happily clamouring over overpriced last gen stock with poor pricing. Scorptec laughing all the way the bank.

        • With the Aussie Dollar VS US at the moment this looks inline with what they go for in USD..

ITS not a great deal.. a $450 6700XT was better but the market for GPU's at the moment is trash.. there is no real great deals unless you get a $460 second hand RX6800 but even then its still second hand and should cost less.

  • +8

do note that these xfx gpus are seriously huge and stupidly overbuilt (323mm long). if you're building in a sff system or are interested in doing so, double check your measurements

    • True but it's an advantage if it fits. Great cooling.

    • Yep, would have snapped up a RX 6800 if it would fit in my ITX case; way too long though, a shame given these XFX GPUs are decent value

    • +1

Thanks for the heads up. Saved me a bit of a headache. I wasn't contemplating this one but looking at a 6800 by xfx and it seems all of them are too long for my current case.

  • +2

I made a build on PC Partpicker using the components from this previous BPC deal and it ended up being $1030. The current 7800xt Nebula deal for $500 extra seems more enticing after seeing this.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/789412

    • Nebula 7800xt deal components =
      $896

Essentially making the full build with this graphics card $1396. Extra ~$150 including shipping, you get a 7800xt instead and the computer built for you.

    • Was considering these two deals a lot recently. I am after something maybe around $1000 so I just think the BPC deal is better for me. But I do have a 4k monitor so the Nebula deal is also tempting. But I saw ppl saying that new gen of card will be released soon and maybe good to wait till then for some stock clearance?

      • If you want to play at 4k I'd definitely recommend the 7800xt build. I bought the BPC deal with a 5700x cpu and better mobo and 32gb ram upgrade which came to $1300. I think the 7800xt deal is better value considering the extra performance increase and faster ram for $200 extra, I'd just upgrade the Mobo too.

        • Yea was kind of indecisive between the two, cuz even though I am after 4k gaming but most of the games I play do not demand that much of a GPU power. Yes I have been using the BPC 6800 deal as a reference to compare against the newly posted deal haha. Hopefully a great deal will turn up during Black Friday!

      • +1

But if your budget is 1k I'd just wait until a deal comes up on here to suit your budget and I'd keep that 6800 deal as a reference to what you should get for around 1k. If that deal came up again I'd recommend it it's been a 1440p beast for me.

        • Just got the 6700XT deal from Nebula for $1060 delivered.

          • @Naigrabzo: Thanks will do some digging on this card and keep an eye on it too!

    • Be aware to set aside some money for shipping especially if you are buying from different vendors. It can add up to $70 or so etc.

Is this good for machine learning?

  • +1

I have a GTX1080ti is this worth upgrading to?

    • Depends.

    • +1

RX6600XT is around 10% faster… so the 6750XT should be around 35% .. not worth it.. a used RX6800 for $460 is what you want (if you even need an upgrade)

      • -1

Yep, and honestly if it were me I'd want to go to at least 4070/3080/6800xt performance if I was upgrading from 1080ti

    • +1

      RX 6800/XT is better

  • +1

So they have at least 100 unsold 6750xt?! When I searched last month. I couldn't even find them-The only 2 left on the market was the Asus and gigabyte one. Great price for a triple fan xfx. But glad I got the 6800 eventually.

  • At stock settings the 6800 looks to use less power while gaming

    • Looks like that way. My system keep crashing on msfs with the old 6750xt. Then never had a crash with 6800. So I guess it's power problem….

  • Is this a decent upgrade from an RTX 2060?

Mostly use my PC for gaming, video editing & photoshop/illustrator work.
Also have to play most games on medium settings at the moment.. :)

    • It's about a 50-100% increase in performance, pretty decent

      • This makes me think it may be worth to just pull the trigger on this. Order this now or wait for Amazon Black Friday/Cyber Monday for a Rx 6800 deal - thoughts?

        • +1

I highly doubt you'd get any decent deals on black friday. Most of if not all high end RX 6000 stock has dried up, if you want the 6800 I'd consider this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/807118 otherwise if you want new this is your best bet!

        • Wait

  • Is this a decent upgrade for an RX 480 8GB? Prices are getting close to what I paid for that… 7 years ago. Or worth waiting for a black Friday deal on an RX 7xxx/6800?

    • +1

this would be a good upgrade but it's still a bit steep yet tbh. will it get a bit better? hopefully.. but if you're willing to wait til black friday that probably can't hurt

      • +4

I've waited 7 years, I think I can wait a little bit longer 😂 Thanks. (Time to check some hardware unboxed videos too, get an idea of what might be worth getting).

Edit: They seem to think the RX 6700XT is better value than the 6750 if it's cheaper, because they are basically the same, and could be over clocked if you want the tiny bit of extra performance.

        • https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/115950494737 6 more available. $469 + delivery with code SAVNOV23.

This is what i went with, but i upgraded from a GTX 1070

          • @clanton: "Near new"? Does that mean "ex-mining"?

          • @clanton: Wouldn't 6750 XT new be safer bet than ex-mining 6800 ?

            • @congo: Has warranty until 2025, i think worth it. Could always repaste the gpu if needed
