    Where's the new Melbourne HQ?

    • +3

Geddes Street, Mulgrave. Been there a few times already. Looks amazing.

      • Yeah been there once, Amazing indeed!

    • Melbourne.

    • 61 - 65 Geddes St Mulgrave VIC 3179 :D

Hi can you guys run a special on ryzen cpu? Wanting to buy 7700x or 7800x3d =D

    • Let me talk to the PM!

  • +14

Upgrade to CPU Ryzen 5600 and MB B550, it will be a perfect 1440p rig.

    • +5

Yep, absolute no-brainer at $69 for the CPU and $29 for the motherboard.

    • @BennyHe2018: for those who contemplate moving from 1080P to 1440P, visit a gaming lounge with capable hardware & test gaming @ 1440P. See if you get any extra enjoyment / benefit ?

      • The benefit of going 1440p is not necessarily in game, but for every other use of the computer. In my opinion, 1080p is too low res on anything above about 23" these days, with 1440p being the sweet spot for the sub 30" screens, then 4k above that.

  • +1

How many ram and m2 slots have the current motherboard and the B550m upgrade? Is it 2xram and 1xm2 for both?

    • Hi!

If you choose the B550 upgrade generally we will use the Gigabyte B550M K motherboard.

The mobo comes with 4 ram slots and 2 x m.2 connectors.

      Cheers,
      BPC Team

  • +16

that's about the price of just the RX6800 card alone. not bad at all!

      • +7

That's second hand mate. Completely different product at that point. One year store warranty, vs manufacturer warranty + store warranty.

        • +7

Still not a 900 card. 6800 is 600-700 when found new.

          • @Dienk: where do you find it new at this price

            • @shabaka: "when found"= not really easy to find new anymore.

              • @Dienk: that's the thing, I never saw it at this price or even being sold here new

only Amazon since 2023 started.. so genuinely curious

ok found it actually, in stock at pccg at $799

but with that in mind, I never saw it sold for 600-700 new..

                • @shabaka: 6800xt is around $830 on Amazon. 6800 non XT is worth less than that then.

I dont understand why someone would call this a 900 bucks gpu if with the same amount you can buy a 4070 rtx.

                • -1

@shabaka: Anyway, $759 on Amazon. Still $59 above my price guess. Still is not worth it.

                  RX 6800 https://amzn.asia/d/a33heYQ

                  • +1

@Dienk: yup. 4070 is not worth it either, it's just not a good card. I am stuck with 3070 and no upgrade path at the moment in my view. can't say I am suffering with 3070 here, no real need to upgrade either, it gives me all I need in 4k, while 6800 also did, but struggled in the titles I care about. also the fkin noise! I am happy I changed 6800 -> 3070 while it was still worth around what I paid for it initially.

      • +3

SORRY.. your link is a Used product.. BPC Technology is selling you a new factor 12 month warranty product

      • +3

        Oops, sorry my bad.

    • +1

What? Are you stuck in 2022? Haha.

      • +1

        who's doing this?

just saying that this is just about the price of RX 6800 alone. not bad!

    • +1

      @shabaka: kudo.

BPC did the wrong thing with delivery time, & shouldn't took people's money knowing that they can't deliver customisation of systems when they don't have stock on hand & may be some stock existed @ overseas-factories. They know that buyers can't do anything about it, other than complain & some waited 3 months. May be it's more than telling buyers ‘what they want to hear' & 'sweet talks' ?

For the novice-gamers, pls take the following comments as a guide-only & you must be satisfied with your-OWN research.

Comparing to Techfast's 5700X 6700XT vs 5600 6800, BPC's 6800 is a better deals for $1.1K… but only if you are satisfied with the YOUR-reviews of my comments.
Andrenalin driver for 6800: if this is your 1st AMD-GPU, investigate this. Speak to 6800 owners?
      FPS: 6800 vs 6700XT, 6800 produces ~ extra 20 FPS & critical -> https://www.techpowerup.com/review/gigabyte-radeon-rx-6700-x…
CPU: 5700X is stronger than 5600, upgrade if you need the grunt
B550 Upgrade Motherboard: both are likely entry-level with 'just enough' VRM thermal strength, really need wifi & may be don't OC ?
RAM: positive to Lexar Thor DDR4 3200 CL16, known brand & model # that you can research
PSU: positive to FSP Hydro PRO 700W 80+ Bronze, extra 50W (700-650) & known brand & model # that you can research
Case: DarkFlash DLM21 MESH get confirmation of fans PRE-installed: MUST-have 3/4 fans. Antec NX200M Mesh Case: Techfast noted '3 preinstalled 120mm rainbow fans'
Windows OS: BPC don’t pre-installed Windows as per advised via a prior deal & hence you’ll need a work-around.

May be all sellers need to raise their standard being,
1.CLEAR & DETAILED listing of parts @ OzBargain deal, eg their linked order-page goes offline when deal expire
2.warn gamers of UNDER-specking parts to lure buyers with low-prices, but upgrade is recommended, eg CPU & Mobo ? ‘the devil is in the details’ merely add to the MIS-trust.

It’s a jungle out there & good luck with your research.

      • Update…how many buyers will get caught-out ?
Case: BPC deal must upgrade to 'MSI Forge M100R' for $19: 4 Pre-installed Fan-> https://www.msi.com/PC-Case/MAG-FORGE-M100R/Specification

      • Hi Ben @ BPC,
DarkFlash DLM21: may be BPC should NOT have listed this as a standard option ?
As you know, novice buyers do get caught-out with bad airflows, see details below.
May be you can take leadership with basic 'Gaming-PC Cooling 101' … not sure if I need to suggest the min. spec. ?
        Worse case: no-fan-> https://www.bpctech.com.au/product/dlm21black-darkflash-dlm2….
Best case: 1 fan as per BPC phone-chat.

MaOptAus bought from BPC & asked for help with cooling advice-> https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/763319
That deal only came with '… a exhaust fan' -> https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/756747
Beside the '85 degrees Celsius in 20 minutes' CPU temp. as per noted by buyer, it's very likely that a temp. gun would have reveal that the VRM was operating beyond the safe limit….ASUS PRIME H610M-E D4 used was a low-tier mobo.
This 6800 deal run hotter & need better airflows than 6750XT.

  • How many 3.5" HDD bays?
The MAG FORGE 100R (upgrade) has 2 x 3.5" HHD bays?

  • +4

May not apply as it's a prebuilt but if you need an RMA their response time is slower than they will tell you if you need help.

Currently still waiting on an order to be linked with an account for a day since they told me it would take a couple of hours. You can't even begin the process (which must be reviewed and accepted by BPC) until this happens.

This process has spanned 2 business days so far with the weekend incoming so even if I post tomorrow it won't even arrive until mid next week.

    Very frustrating.

    • Hi there, would you mind sharing your Order and RMA number with me?

      • +1

        UPDATE

BPC got in touch with me very quickly after my initial comment and I was able to get my RMA process started within the same day.

In all fairness to BPC they had actually emailed me that same day before my comment and I had not gotten a notification (thanks Outlook) so while I was frustrated they did actually get it going so I was perhaps a little hasty in my original comment.

While my initial issue was with the support team's turnaround on my original query, I must say that as a whole the team was helpful overall.

        Thanks BPC Tech.

        • Thanks for the clarification!

If you need further assistance please don't hesitate to reach out!

          Sincerely,
          BPC Team

  • +1

What would be the best value upgrades for this build? I am thinking ram but anything else?
EDIT: are the 5600 or 5700x worth the upgrade price?

    • +3

Upgrade to B550 and 32GB of ram

in a year or two upgrade the CPU yourself to a Ryzen 5700X or 5800X3D to get a faster speed and PCIe 4.0 support

the 5500 only supports PCIe 3.0 but the B450 board only supports PCIe 3.0

      • Isnt cheaper to buy ram separately and place it in the pc after?

        • Not if it only has 2 slots

    • I'd probably go up to a B550M board and a Ryzen 5600, and the MSI Forge case - and maybe even the RGB RAM upgrade too, all of which are pretty reasonably priced.

How do we get the free 1tb SSD upgrade mentioned in the OP?

      • What are the advantages of the B550M? Will it affect performance or mostly for more slots?

        • +1

really just to get PCIe 4.0 for future upgradability

        • Nvme drives can reach speeds of 7400MBPS vs 3500MBPS on PCIe 3.0.. The GPU also uses PCIe 4.0

        • access to pci-e4.0, with high performance ssds now coming down in price significantly (>5500+ r/w speed class) - I've recently replaced the ssds on my Asus ROG B550 (replacing 2x 1Tb ones with 2Tb & 4Tb).

    • +3

Yes, the cpu is worth the money, but no, I don't suggest to upgrade. Just do the ram, and maybe the motherboard as well.

The 5500 is actually enough to drive the RX6800 if you want to play 1440p, and are sufficient to run most esport game above 160hz. However, cpu bottleneck can occur later down the track, and we already have a few games that heavily benefit from better cpu.

I always say, unless you know you need the extra cpu power, you shouldn't need to bother. So if you need to ask about the cpu at all, don't bother. It only matters for you are a heavily modded minecrafter, or a flight simmer, or something along those lines. I suggest to wait for the 5800x3d go cheaper in a few years and upgrade that in a few years. Though honestly, by then, you're probably better off upgrading to the AM5 platform, cause it'll be cheap by then.

      • +4

wait for the 5800x3d go cheaper in a few years

It's unlikely to be available new in a few years, and the used market no doubt will get inflated as it's the endgame for gamers on am4 — and that's a lot of systems.

Hardware Unboxed did some comparisons between the 5500 and 5600 here. He used a 6950XT and a 6600XT, so numbers for the 6800 will be somewhere in the middle. Worth for OP to have a read through and look for any games that are of interest, but it looks like several games would benefit from the 5600 even at 1440p and moreso at 1080p. It's around an 8% price premium, so probably a toss-up in terms of value.

        • +1

Well, if it inflates, we would be deep into the AM5 territory and he can easily get a cheap AM5 board.

Agreed, and notice how most of the benefits of 5600 are in sim racers or in games that are already are above 165hz. In most AAA games, I don't think it matters too much, Shadow of the tomb raider easily reaches 160hz despite it being a cpu intensive game.

I do think that it's worth the extra money. Just that I don't think it matters to most people.

          • @Wonderfool: Also the benefit of improved 1% lows, and general smoothness/snapiness with less hiccups overall.
It's worth it imo if it doesn't cost too much extra.

            • @Handymancan: Same point as before. If you're not playing a cpu bound game, the 1% lows will be exactly the same. And 5500 is pretty adequately above 60fps in 1% lows in most cases anyways.

Again, it just depends on your use case, and if you need to ask that question at all, chances are, you're not likely to be playing a cpu bound game.

      • +1

@Wonderfool: I am sure he writes with good intention. May be search for reviews of 6800 where 5500 & 5600 CPU are being compared ?

        R5 5500 vs R5 5600: you are buying a 2023 'MID-range system' & cheap-out $69 on CPU grunt ? May be 5500 path is under-specking your system…a life of 3-4 years ?

As a guide: scroll down to your resolution & select your game-> https://www.gpucheck.com/en-usd/compare/amd-radeon-rx-6800-v…
        https://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/PNRLvK9JkecJuZMTEXbGaG-120…
FYI, I selected 5600X version because that site don't have data for R5 5600, & I believe that the extra-FPS is a few% in favour of 5600X', hence the charts show slightly HIGHER-fps difference.

I ordered from one of BPCs previous deal. Computer didn't arrive, working with their warranty team was a massive pain, and I still don't have my money back (PC was scheduled to arrive 8th June). Resorted to doing a chargeback through my bank, as refund has not been issued as promised.

    • Hi Tendy,

Would you mind sharing the order number? I will look into it now.

      Sincerely,
      BPC Team

      • I have PMed you.

        • Look into it now!

Interested to know what happened here.

          • +1

            @TheFunkySalsa: Yeah, a bit shady

          • +1

@TheFunkySalsa: The courier (StarTrack) lost the PC, and BPC have told me they are waiting to claim it on their insurance before they refund me.

The rep here has offered to chase it up to try and process the refund asap.

Will never buy again from this hunk-a-junk of a store

    • +2

      Hi Plushtoys,

We sincerely apologize for the negative experience you had with our store. Your feedback is incredibly important to us, and we are genuinely sorry for any inconvenience we may have caused.

We understand your frustration and would like to make things right. Please allow us to investigate the issue further to understand your exact problem. We will work diligently to find a resolution if you can provide more details through direct messages. Once again, we apologize for the negative experience, and we hope to have the opportunity to make it up to you. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

      Sincerely,
      BPC Team

      • +6

Sounds like a cut and paste response for a review site imo

        • +1

Haven't receive order details from this customer yet so have to apologies first for sure.

      • I had an promotional issue which I sent a DM on 10/7/23 and didn’t even hear back from you guys…

    • +1

What happened? Looking to buy a gaming rig and this looks like good value, but if there are so many negative testimonials, it might be more of a risk than a benefit.

      • +1

We've rebuilt our service team over the past 3 months during our relocation, and we expect there will be unsolved issues so I am happy to see they are still able to share the feedback so we can try to provide the solution even a bit late.

        • +1

Fair enough, it was a pretty generalised comment so was hoping that the poster would share more info.

  • +2

Hi Rep, does the RX6800 come with a free copy of Starfield Premium? If yes, how to redeem?

    • +1

It should, as it is eligible. Unless they're recycling GPUs as per the lower comment

    • Hi Jezster,

Yes, we do, as one of the AMD partners in Australia.

Generally, my colleague will send the code for all the matching orders every Wednesday/Thursday.

Once you got the code you can activate from here:https://www.amdrewards.com/

      Cheers,
      BPC Team

    • +1

Will you be able to play it on this rig? Specs are pretty demanding.

  • +2

Finally some upgrade options that are not double priced. Well done

  • Hi OP, anytime soon offering this deal again?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/780557

    • Hi Cloudie9,

To be honest I consider the $1099 pricing won't happen again as it's a really special deal for that period of time only.

      Apologies for that.

      Sincerely,
      BPC Team

  • +4

I've had mixed experiences with this store and won't buy from them again. I bought a PC from them a couple of months ago and the PC arrived in 10 working days, which is OK. However when I went to register my GPU for the Diablo promotion, Asus advised that the GPU had already been registered and so I am ineligible for the free game (which was part of the BPC promotion). My concern is that they have used returned parts in my PC, not brand new ones. I've sent many emails and they have never reply. Rang them and they said they always use new parts and they would get back to me but never do. They must be hoping I drop the issue!

    • +6

      Hi there,

I am the staff handling your case with Asus, and my colleague called me to reply.

I can guarantee your parts are definitely brand new, and Asus just replied to us looking for the GPU PPID for further investigation.

I will speak to the team to reply to your email for the PPID.

Apologies again for the confusion, but we have no idea why your code got claimed, and if both Asus and Nvidia can't give us the solution, we will purchase the new game code just for you.

      Sincerely,
      BPC Team

      • +20

Hi, I have received an email thanks, I will reply to that. However I am disappointed that I only got a response because I posted here. My previous calls and emails should have been replied to so I know what is going on. We are talking well over a month here.

  • +9

Yikes. I haven't bought my PC yet, but these testimonials here - I'm staying away from BPC.

    That's very shoddy customer service.

    • I've had no issues from BPC… all good with my orders

    • Hi Mick,

I am now asking the team to look into your order now, and you should get a reply shortly.

      Sincerely,

  • @BPC Technology
Will this come with Starfield Premium?
Also, any chance I can get 3070TI instead?
    Thanks

    • Hi there,

For sure, you will get a copy!

Let me ask the PM about the 3070ti upgrade! Generally comes with an upgrade cost.

      Cheers,
      BPC Team

      • -1

Alright please let me know as I might place an order this weekend.
I think the 3070ti is a cheaper card, but has better performance in video editing.

      • +2

Also, does this "Free upgrade SSD (Double) for all Gaming PC. T&C apply" work on upgrades too? If I upgrade to 1TB (+39$), I will be receiving 2 TB?

        • Hi!,

Yes, we will double upgrade one as well, but won't apply to the extra SSD.

          Cheers,
          BPC Team

          • @BPC Technology: ah great, and one final thing as I think I will place my order after work. What is the difference between the high speed and the regular one (3500read/2400write)?
So I if choose the 'Upgrade to 1TB High Speed SSD +59$', then I will get 2TB high speed SSD?

      • Doesn't starfield come with the GPU only?
5-series CPU doesn't seem to be in the starfield promo.
If swapping the GPU to nVidia is still eligible for starfield, does that mean people who keep rx6800 are actually eligible for 2 copies of starfield?

  • Any similar deals from a Brisbane-based store?

  • +9

Wouldn't buy from this company again myself.
Got a computer with them during the recent EOFY deal - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/779899

    A few thing -
Missed out on the Diablo 4 promotion because they took so long (more than 1 month from payment) - was given a Starfield key from the promotion though

Company randomly changes parts of the computer because of 'stock issues' without consulting customer - my gpu was 'upgraded' but they decided to downgrade my motherboard for no reason even though they had stock - reasoning was because the GPU was upgraded

Sent out random crappy mouse/keyboard in place of what the promotion was because they had 'ran out' - you'd think they would allocate the stock on purchase

No communications at all from the company unless you call them up - don't bother emailing the sales team, just straight up call them if you do purchase from them

    • +1

Missed out on the Diablo 4 promotion because they took so long (more than 1 month from payment) - was given a Starfield key from the promotion though

Given the comments on the recent season 1 patch notes, a blessing in disguise

    • +1

Similar experience, hard to recommend them. I bought the same deal and it took a month to complete even though it was showing ‘in-stock’ at the time of purchase.

I missed out on Diablo 4 promotion, codes ran out by the time I got the PC. DMed them on ozb to see if they can help but no response, called them but was basically told not our promotion so you’re out of luck even though it was their fault it took so long.

      • Hio Corgii,

As we mentioned in the chat, would you mind leaving us with your order number?

I will ask the support team to look into your order now.

        Sincerely,
        BPC Team

        • BPC team on Ozb sorted this out for me. Took a while to get their attention on this but overall happy with the outcome and would recommend them if they keep up their after-sale service.

      • @Corgii: ‘in-stock’ is what the system is showing, but system often do not match ACTUAL stock-on-hand, eg stock used for recent build but system not updated (technician too busy & forgot).
May be a physical stock take & update of system record just prior to listing deals would help….& so will regular check of physical stock while deals are on.

    • Hi notakn,

We are so sorry to hear about your experience.

Would you mind sending us your order number? I will ask the support team to look into it now.

      Apologies again!

      Sincerely,
      BPC Team

      • dm'd you incase you missed it again

    • Not sure where to post this but thought it was only fair that I gave credit where credit is due.

BPC customer serviced reached out to me after kicking a fuss up here on OZB and rectified the few problems I listed above

-Apparently they will be sending me a game code in the future of any game promotion that comes around (cannot confirm yet). This is due to me missing Diablo 4

-Gave me a $100 no limit voucher to use on their store due to part altering without warning (haven't tried using it yet)

-Sent me the upgraded versions of the promotional EVGA mouse/kb (EVGA Z20 and X15) after sending me some crappy HP ones

Overall, I would say that I am satisfied with the outcome.

Definitely upgrade to 5600 CPU. This is a great deal for a 6800. 16gb vram will serve you well in the future.

Hi BPC, will you PRE-install WindowsOS, but not activated on your systems ? Thanks
