Jetts Gym, Free Joining Worth $99 [BNE]

40

was trying to haggle Jetts into giving me free joining when she said she couldn't do it but Jetts will be offering free joining on the 27th Oct for 'Open Heart Day'.

Conversation was with a rep from a Brisbane branch. I wouldn't know if it applies anywhere else or if it last for more than just one day.

You'd still need to pay $29 for the access card and membership fees.

  • On the website it states the joining fee is $89 and the membership fee is $59???????

The Brisbane CBD location has free joining fee now (has had since they secured tenancy) however the catch is they aren't open yet and you can't start paying now and just use other clubs.

Judging by the activity last week I wouldn't be at all surprised if its ready this week or next.

    • How do you get the free membership there?

Assuming no reception there as they're not open yet.

      Seriously interested.

      • If it's anything like the Jetts at Springwood, they would have someone set up somewhere near the gym location selling memberships. It was in the middle of the shopping centre in Springwood.

      • They are set up out the front of the building… Every single day. They have a desk or are simply standing in the street.

It's not a free membership, it's free joining fee.

If you're lucky they may still be giving out foundation memberships which means you get a backpack etc for free

The one opening in Brisbane CBD is apparently the biggest Jetts around (takes up the entire first floor and part of ground floor)

"biggest Jetts around"…that wouldn't be hard. Jetts is like working out in someone's home gym.

        • I missed out on foundation membership apparently :(

Still might sign up, but pretty broke at the moment.

The bag, bottle, $0 joining fee and access card is what made me interested.

Isn't the 'joining fee' always just a marketing gimmick? I've joined the gym at my uni, fitness first, anytime fitness and just recently good life, and never once was I made to pay a joining fee lol. Every time the rep would tell me 'if you join now, I'll wave the joining fee'….

  • A joining fee? Understandable.

But they make you pay an access card/membership fee as well? LOL.

  • Does anyone actually have a membership in jetts ? each one i see (including the one in docklands) is so small and always full, it doesn't motivate me to go there

    any experiences ?

    • I did 3 days pass one year when my Goodlife upfront membership expired, it was a joke. Sure Jetts is cheap but there so small and so busy (cheap, cheap). You'd be better of buying a treadmill, some weights and working out in cupboard at home than paying for a membership with them. Off topic, Goodlife is great.

  • Do they have lockable lockers? What about separate shower rooms? How many booths?

  • Looks like it's accross the board:

For every person who joins Jetts on Open Heart Day, the gym will not only waive the $99 joining fee, but will donate $10 to the Heart Foundation.

    • The press release states Saturday October 29th so I guess this must be advance warning for their 2016 promotion :)

that press release was from last year.

        • you're right, I looked for a date at the top but missed the one in the footer.

  • Friday 19th October will be Chermside's Open Heart Day or the Day when this Jetts Gym is willing to waive their joining fees.

  • If you join up as a foundation member to gyms that will be opening up around you, they'll waive both the joining fee and the access card.
