Needed a cheap printer, low volume printing for home use. Has wireless connectivity but according to some reviews, connectivity can be unreliable. For this price, I will try my luck.

  • But they get you with the exorbitantly price replacement ink cartridges …

    • We don't do alot of printing at home so I'm expecting the inks provided will last us for a while.

From my experience the ink dries out if you leave it too long. Also the ink cartridge provided is often a reduced capacity/starter ink cartridge, it doesn’t make mention in the description from what I could see but the reviews suggest poor print volumes.

Ink dries up so if u don't use it for a month end up drying out and get lame yield anyways.

        • inkjets are a scam.

With a bit of effort you can refill the cartridges. I had a $17 Canon printer I used for years. I just kept refilling the black cartridge with ink I bought for $10 or less. Finally upgraded to a laser printer but it was a fine stopgap if you don't print often.

  • Does it include scanner?

Seems so as I read description. Thanks OP nice deal

      • if it runs out of ink, even with only 1 colour, it won't let you print or scan.

  • I have one similar to this. Best to use it as a scanner only. For printing, it's better to get a Brother laser printer. Much better and cheaper to run. Can buy non-official ink on ebay.

As somebody pointed out above, the ink will dry out if you don't print often. I had similar experience, ended up throwing the printer away to landfill.

    • Does it scan if you don't have any ink cartridges attached? I'm looking to get this one just for scanning as i already have a laser printer for the other stuff

      • I have a Canon multifunction (not this model by the way). Bought for $12 at Officeworks. I'm using it for scanning, without any cartridge attached. In fact, I already threw the inks away. Can't be bother. Laser is way better.

If you don't do stacks of printing and need a scanner sometimes, this is a good device. The print quality is very good. I have had one for just over a year now. Scanning DPI is good too.
