        Mine is clamp type with a tiny nub of a hook at the back. Always falls off. Keep meaning to modify it to make the hook bigger but I'm wicked lazy. Thought about melting a bit of metal or something into the nub. I tried a MagSafe one from Amazon but it just didn't fit the vent at all.

    There is one on Aliexpress that mounts via the CD player slot. Best one ive used and it holds up a S22U via magnet. This listing does mention S22U, but I dont see how a vent can hold it up.

        It's one of those Chinese brands that slaps its name on variants of an Alibaba product. If you want something you can trust, it won't be one of these or the similar ones on Amazon. On the other hand if you can put up with an occasional annoyance but otherwise decent performance, they're only $13-20.

        My sister in law's car has one almost identical to this. If the power is off in the car you can't get your phone out. When you first turn the car on it opens even if a phone is already in it. Otherwise fine.

        I don't have a problem with the air vent clamp. If you mean the motorised phone holder, it's a bit temperemantal, but pressing the open/close button one more time fixes it. I'm generally happy with it.

        Also mine has a little capacitor or something that lets you get your phone out even if the car is turned off.

    I would prefer ESR magsafe car mount, stronger magnet and it has support sucction so not too much weight on the vent. This one may break the vent with a heavy phone.

      The original quad lock mounts are good.

      The new MAG ones have lost the key benefit of the original quad lock design and are not as secure.

        i thought those quadlock magnets holders are easy to click on and are super strong and which is the main benefit of these mounts, but i guess i have not read complaints about them yet

          They are easy to click on, but that's a disadvantage too.

          The original quad lock physically locked the device in, which is why you had to rotate it on and off.

          The MAG one is just a magnet (think of it like a generic mag safe) with the look of the original quad lock. You place it on and the magnet holds it so it can be knocked off or fall off from a big bump.

    Got this recently, and the hook is long enough to hook on a toyota yaris centre vents (which pretty long compared to other cars)
