    of course ordered yesterday:D

    • Unlikely since it was yesterday but can you cancel it?
The cashback sites usually give the big increases after a day or few so i usually wait until the sale finishes. You just run the risk of items selling out.

  • Capped at $15

    • Tracking shows a bit exceeding $15, so evidently the cap is higher. Probably $20-25 cap as previously.

  • I normally just buy Gerber for my little tod., enough for free shipping.

  • Ordered caffeine, synephedrine, and NAC.

Synephedrine is on the ban list for doses over 30mg. Have a feeling will be fully banned in the near future.

    https://au.iherb.com/pr/dymatize-elite-100-whey-protein-powd…

    Insane prices on there now.

Probably cheaper to buy everything in Aus.

This use to be like $90 years ago, their prices have gone absolute mad.

      Depends on what you buy.
I spent $100 and looking at aussie prices would have paid over $300.

Nobody ever buys whey protein on iherb. It's been expensive on there for many, many years, it's not anything recent. I always assumed it was shipping related.

Often you will see the same inflated prices on Amazon AU where the seller is Amazon US. On similar whey products.

  • is it $15 cap per transaction?

    • Confirmed it is $15 cap per transaction. can click through and buy up to $100 again.

      • Tracking showed that it added to a sum in excess of 15 for me.

        • +1

          So it's wasn't actually capped.
I think it's because each item are tracked separately.

  • Anyone have troubles with it tracking through the mobile shop back app?

    • I think it takes a few hours to track… I ordered via desktop browser

      • Mine come through. Also made a purchase through another shop last night that didn't track. Lesigh

Is this valid for Host Defense products?

10mg is a big dose of melatonin! If you've never taken it before, I'd start with 2-3mg. They have some dissolvable melatonin wafers on iherb which are fantastic. And a shitload cheaper than buying it from a compounding pharmacy in Australia.

    • I suffer from insomnia. I found this one to have the lowest per unit cost. Can I break the tablets into half?

      • I'm not sure. But even half is a big dose at 5mg. You'd have to take a quarter of a pill imo

      • OzB won't let me post a link to iHerb to show you the one I'm talking about. The title is "Melatonin, Fast Dissolve, Strawberry, 3 mg, 90 Tablets"

        They're more expensive. They're what I take when I can't sleep.

      • It is possible that it wont be a slow release if you break it. I have no idea if that is actually try but I have seen a slow release tablet say not to break and thought that could be why. Slow release is
Start with 1-2mg and then increase if it doesnt work but if you take it and look at phone etc then it can affect how well the melatonin works as well so work on good sleep hygiene practices as well if you are not already. Also know that it is possible taking too much can make it harder to sleep.

That's a good point. The tablets OP posted are slow release. The ones I linked to are immediate release and can be broken. Generally slow release pills can't be broken because you damage the coating that makes them slow release. Any tablet that isn't scored and designed to be broken also has a risk that the ingredients aren't spread evenly throughout the pill, so if you break it and only take half you might not actually be getting half the dose. With all that being said, if you break the ones OP posted in half, worst case scenario is you won't get exactly 5mg, and you'll impact the slow release effect. It'll still get you to sleep.

The standard slow release melatonin tablets in Australia are circadan and they are 2mg. These ones are 10mg.

@Pineapples: Most of my issue is staying asleep. Most days i can get myself to sleep but i wake up in the middle of the night .

            • +1

@Iluvfreebies-freeDel: If your problem is intermediate or terminal insomnia, definitely get a sustained release version of melatonin. As Pineapples mentioned, a 2 to 3 mg dose is fine for most people.

That said, Melatonin is a relatively weak hypnotic. But drugs with stronger sedative effects require a prescription, and many are expensive because they aren't PBS subsidized. Types of hypnotics (for you, ones with an elimination half life of 8 hours would be best)

              1. Antihistamines (also the antidepressants Doxepin and Mirtazapine are potent anti-histamines); these tend to have long half lives though
              2. Benzodiazepines (eg Temazepam); many doctors have benzodiazopinophobia though so you may have trouble getting a script
              3. Benzodiazepine-like drugs eg Stillnox (not PBS subsidized, not many in a packet)
              4. Orexin antagonists - suxorexant (expensive)
              5. Antipsychotics (not recommended, lots of side effects)
              6. Barbiturates (probably not available anymore)

One interest effect of melatonin is that it increases dreaming (REM) sleep. Benzodiazepines decrease REM sleep, so if you are using a benzo (like me) you should combine it with a low dose of melatonin to restore normal sleep patterns.

      • I bought a whole bunch of different brands of Melatonin gummies on iHerb. My parents now love it. They both stopped taking so much benzodiazepene.

I find 2.5mg is enough for me, if I take 5mg it gives me bad dreams. I think they are taking 5mg

    • How much is compounding pharmacy charge you?

You can get a script for a higher mg per ml

      • I haven't looked for a while, but last time I looked it was pricey, maybe $2/pill from memory. And they're capsules so you can't break them in half. And if you want the liquid it only lasts about a month (I think), so it's not great if you're not using it all the time.

Edit: I was living in the country at the time, so there's a chance I was getting ripped off.
