  • When it comes to Pro-ject at least, whilst this reads like a CHT special, as per usual, the Pro-ject pricing is dictated by Pro-ject and every one of their partners matches pricing EXACTLY, not a cent different.

You can find the list of sheep/partners there too, and find a retailer closest to you.

    • Doesn't Apple do the same thing for pricing? They fix what they're able to be sold for?

  • I have been eyeing on the Carbon Evo, at $749, seems to be a good deal. Is there anything better at this price point?

    • +1

The Carbon Evo is a great option, The X1 is a great step up for not too much more with a large Acrylic Plater, which would normally be an upgrade on the Evo. You do get a few more colour options to choose from with the Carbon Evo though.

You really couldn't go wrong with either option, both having a Ortofon 2M Red Cartridge fitted.

      • Is the Carbon Evo a big step up from the T1 Phono SB?

        • +1

Yes, it's a large step up in my option. Higher end parts in key areas, it's also more upgradable in the future.

          • @Customht: Hey I sent you a PM in hopes of getting some advice.

  • Any chance I could get the yellow Carbon Evo?

    • Unfortunately no stock atm

  • My partner wants a turntable and isn't so much of an enthusiast. Is the PRO-JECT PRIMARY E TURNTABLE at $299 ok or should I look at the higher-priced models? Additionally, how do you connect these to speakers? My last turntable was in the 90s with the dad's amp tower with cassette player,, EQ and more haha.

    • Do you know what amplifier he has? As if it has a built in phono stage you can use the Primary E.
If not the T1 Phono SB is the better option: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/goto/811192

  • Would I be able to connect this turntable to my KEF LSX II and be good to go out of the box?

    • +1

You'd just need to use a cable like this one to connect to the 3.5mm aux input on the kef's if you don't already have one:

      • Thank you. I would have missed that and been so sad when the turntable arrived and I couldn't use it right away.

Will consult with the boss tonight and look at making the purchase. Cheers.
