    I see AU$18.24 on desktop

New user offer maybe? AliE's pricing is a mystery layer-cake of possibilities.

    • +2

Logged in? I did too until I logged in and it went to OPs price.

I wish the Chinese manufacturers would start copying the fancy ergonomic keyboards

  • +1

Didn't need it, bought it anyway.

  • +2

its not real hotswap sockets, like it's not khail or gateron hotswap sockets, the switches are like impossible to take out.

      its not real hotswap sockets

It appears that you intentionally and maliciously took out the hot-swappable fake statement of this no name and cheap import.

Dual Mode Hot-Swappable :Easily switch between wired and wireless modes with the hot-swappable feature, giving you the flexibility to use your keyboard in any environment.

So do you feel hot after reading all of these hot-swappable fake features?
I'm tempted to buy this crap then I make an application for not as described crap so I get the money back and keep the keyboard!

      • Aliexpress customer service is very much 'YMMV' and you have a hidden score on your account that the agents use to decide whether they should side with you or the seller.

You may not always win the dispute if you raise one, and they might even ask you to ship the product back (international post is expensive). Just something to keep in mind if you want to purchase a product and claim it as not as described.

the agents use to decide whether they should side with you or the seller.

They decide according to some crooks' feeling instead of looking at the facts, how long do you think this will work well for Aliexpress before less and less people buy from them?

they might even ask you to ship the product back (international post is expensive)

I bet they dare, they send fake items so they must pay for return delivery fees.
Aliexpress's robot can deny my claim no problem I complain to PayPal.
PayPal deny my claim, no problem I rise to issue to the AFCA.
AFCA right now is too busy because they are receiving too many complaints, no problem I take PayPal to the small claims tribunal.
You see, WE consumers have rights and I know how to deal with crook merchants.

One of the Korean reviews says:

It's advertised as being hot swappable, but it's soldered. I searched and found that people who had recently received it wrote that it was soldered, so I disassembled it and found that it was actually soldered. It doesn't even say hot swap on the box. After searching, I ordered it thinking it might be soldered, but since they falsely advertised it as a hot swap, I can only give it one star. I don't know what it was like in the beginning, but now you can get a soldered product. If you receive it and want to exchange it for a different switch, disassemble it and check whether it is soldered or hot swapped before exchanging the switch.

      Lying scumbag sellers.

I think some of those reviewers may be mistaken, I noticed that korean reviewer added additional feedback that I hadn't noticed before.

Don't fully understand the RU-ENG translation but I think he also means to say the switches are a clone from Outemu and there is a risk of ripping out solder pads if you try to remove the switch since they're too tight.

Yeemail also commented saying the switches are removable so most likely it is hot-swap as described

          Thanks. Neg revoked.

I'll stick with the representative's own statement.

    • +2

      Thanks for the research.

(Commenting in order to neg the deal)

      • +1

The comment has incorrect information. The neg is not justified

        • -2

Too much inconsistent information on this product, which makes me think that the product itself might just change at whim at the vendors current choice of sourcing.

  • 18.22 on my Ali express app

  • Have you guys had good luck with these cheapo keyboards? I've tried 3 now and each time after a month or so they start going bad. Missing or adding extra keypresses that shouldn't be there, and the odd key not working anymore. Different brands each time, not this specific one

    • Usually caused by poor quality soldering (cheap solder material, bad workmanship) and lack of quality control.
A good mechanical keyboard shouldn't have those issues.

Note that double inputs (chattering) can also be caused by dust https://linustechtips.com/topic/1077138-key-chattering-on-me… so if your keyboard is filthy it might need a good cleaning.

      • +1

yeah I know I've been fine with more expensive keyboards, I got a Royal Kludge and its going strong, but all the other cheap ones seem to die

    • +1

I'm still using a Kogan Brown from like 5 years ago

      • +1

I went through three Kogan ones until I finally caved and brought a Keychron. Worth every cent.

        • Any chance your keychron is RGB shine through. It's the only reason I didn't by keychron. Couldn't source one that had shine through keycaps.

    • I paid $70 for a Royal Kludge RKG68 (went on sale the next day for about $60 of course) and can't fault it, wireless, full RGB, huge battery, choice of switches, hot swappable. The look and quality of it is amazing too, there is a RK61 if you like smaller but I needed the dedicated arrow keys. If anything happens to it I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.

I bought this same keyboard a month ago from exactly the same seller and can confirm the switches on the keyboard that I received are not soldered on, and aren't any harder to remove than my hotswap Epomaker. Will upload pictures of proof later.

    • How do you find it? Any input noticeable input lag gaming on 2.4G wireless?

        Pic 2

Upon further inspection, this board is using Outemu hotswap sockets, which means that only Outemu and Outemu clone switches will fit; not a problem for me as I'm not going to put expensive switches in this $30 keyboard. If you do want to install some, say, Gateron switches, you'll need to file down the metal pins and clip the plastic legs.

The lag is imperceptible, it's more than fine for me.

  • the whethet-hot-swappable issue indeed needs further verification. but at this price, i won't complain much as long as it's functional as a wireless mechanical keyboard…

    just my 2 cents.

  • +1

Switches definitely aren't soldered on. They are extremely hard to pull out though especially compared to my other boards (cracked a few switch top housings trying to pull them out)

Stabs surprisingly came factory-lubed, not a very even application but better than nothing.

@PainToad - Not a competitive gamer, but the input lag isn't noticeable for everyday use, in both 2.4Ghz and Bluetooth. I'm sure there actually is plenty of latency especially compared to other keyboards but I don't notice it playing my single-player games. The keyboard isn't advertised as a gaming keyboard anyway.

Reading all these comments makes me depressed that so many people are willing to throw money away - surely you can't be that desperate for a cheap keyboard and could just wait for something better.

I personally don't have the money in this economic climate - that's the whole point of scouring Ozbargain! I've got a mech keyboard at home and one for work and that's enough for me - I don't want the hassle and stress of sorting out some potential scam just because I want to have some fun building a cheap keyboard.

The worst comments are the ones who say they'll buy it knowing the potential rip-off/scam and then return it and get their money back, just to spite the seller… I mean, that's actually more like cutting your nose off to spite your face because you're having to go through the effort of making the refund claim against an alleged scammer (yeah good luck with that…) and then potentially not having the claim go your way anyway!

    • +2

AliExpress is not a scam. It's a genuinely good service. The only negative is we now pay gst on products from there…

    • +2

Do a search for the store on OzB. Plenty of well received deals previously.

As with anything, if it seems too good to be true, then think twice, but in the 100s of transactions I've made on AE, only one fell into that category, and I got my money back, no questions asked.

  • +3

There is a video on the AliExpress site that literally shows the keys being detached.

  • Bought one as a part of the AliExpress sales, ended up being $25 all up. Reviews seem to rate it highly given the price

  • +2

I'll also point out that it includes some spare switches in the box, which is a nice addition

  • I really like the the colour of this KB.
Does one have any first hand experience? I’d be using it for everyday computing, now gaming.

  • Does this mean you would need two usb’s (one for keyboard and one for mouse)?

    • No for Bluetooth, yes if you use the 2.4GHz option.
