My wife was waiting for these to come on sale and here we go! Link is for the black and is also the cheapest and most available of the 3 colours. Very low stock available on the other colours, we snapped up one of the few remaining Viva Magenta's.

  Why get this over a Pixel 8 Pro? Genuine question, given the 7 years of support you get with the Pixel. OfficeWorks has the Pixel range on sale at the moment.

      Gotta be careful with the folding phones though, even small drops directly onto the hinge will break the screens on the other sure, as they are quite fragile

    I'm not interested in a new phone right now but to answer your question, I've never cared about updates. The whole security thing couldn't bother me less, I figure I'm not dumb and they're already pretty safe.
    I know for a fact that this is all incorrect, but it still stands that I've never thought about updates or security when thinking about a new phone to go with and I'm sure most people think about it even less that I do.

      Updates don't matter that much until an app you need decides they're not going to support your android version anymore.

    size and look mainly… Pixel 8 Pro is huge in comparrison… it might technically be a better buy, but everyones needs/wants are different… personally I'm still on a note 10+ and have no plan to change until it dies

    One reason could be that it comes in magenta. Currently there aren't any Google, Apple, or Samsung phones that come in a similar color so a number of people have opted for the Razr in Viva Magenta. Helps that it's a folding phone too since the Galaxy Flip in purple was also quite popular.

    A couple of days ago, when Office Works first put up the sales prices, the black Razr 40 Ultra was priced at $1117. $82 cheaper than everyone else. It has since gone up by $80 to $1197. Kicking myself for not purchasing it the other day. :(
