    It's been ozbargained.

  • OOS…

  • FAHHH. was at checkout and then gone.

  • 399 is very cheap.

    • Was very cheap I guess

  • great price, well i couldn't afford it anyway.

  • +1

Does anyone have the receipt for this. Much thanks!

  • is there any better/cheaper alternative for a great quality/value hair dryer?

  • +3

Here's another place that sells it for $385. + postage.
    https://ozdare.com/products/supersonic-hair-dryer

I'm just concerned it doesn't say actual Dyson in the title.
But it does say Dyson in the description.

    • No idea about dryers but is this a good price? Looking at the previous $4XX deals on here that have hundreds of +ve votes but can't tell if this one is missing accessories/attachments?

For a Dyson Hair Dryer, it's very cheap.

This link and the OP's link are to the professional version of the dyson hair dryer.
It has a longer cord, better filter, and some other things. (Made for the salon. More heavy duty).

And yes has all the attachments.

        • Cheers now debating whether to get this before for the missus instead of waiting for the black friday deals but this seems like it's cheap enough they're unlikely to be better? Shipping at $7.95 seems reasonable as well.

        • Cord: 3.3m
Filter: "newly-developed filtration system" - essentially just holds more to allow for less necessary cleaning
Exclusive Attachment: "Professional concentrator" - It's like the thin styling one
Noise: Acoustically tuned for conversation (I believe it's for the people around you and not so much you and the client)
Motor: Moved to the lower handle for better balance

The main differences between a pro grooming tool and a normal one is the amount of time it's rated to be on for in short periods of time. I believe it says somewhere in the manual of the non-pro version that you're not supposed to use this product for longer than 20 or 30 minutes straight.

    • Assuming that price is in AUD, then that's a reasonable find - assuming postage isn't ridiculous.

    • Just bit the bullet and PayPal'd them. ~$8 regular postage to Hobart (~$15 for express). Thank-you.

Don't buy it! I bought "Dyson" hairdryer cheap like this last year from ebay, everything says Dyson, came with original looking package, accessories and serial number, but it said Malaysia version, the quality of the hairdryer didn't seems to be a premium product, I have contacted the Dyson customer service they even confirmed the serial number was legit, however after I searched on Internet I found it was fake, the manufacturer made them very similar to genuine product and copied the serial numbers. It is very hard to tell the difference. If you want a Dyson, by from official website or from big retailers such as MYER, DJ etc.

      • Pay with Paypal or your debit card, if they sell you a fake then claim a refund. Also, you've written all this information down and still didn't give us any advice on distinguishing the difference between the fake and the real.

      • I too would like to know what I'm looking for to trigger a refund if needed. You suggest look for "Malaysia Version", but where is this found?

Also how cheap was your "cheap" ebay purchase.

        • Yeah, these ozdare guys seem to be a legit hair salon training academy/supplier of product. Their socials also directly link to Dyson Professional, and the company itself is a registered company here in Aus. Mine is due to arrive tomorrow, so I'll be able to have a good close look.

@BillyG687: If anyone is still reading this whole post. I just got mine delivered. It's legit. I registered the serial number and it's all fine.

            • +1

@halley: Just got mine also - fast delivery - looks good!

          • @BillyG687: It's easy enough to make an online presence look professional and bigger than it really is. Their address on facebook looks like the Boating Industry Association HQ for Victoria too - so that's a little odd. Then their business registration has another different address that looks like warehouses. Any insights here when you recieve the kit would be appreciated.

Nice on the REGO too… any Malaysia model statements anywhere?

            • +2

@nitens: No evidence of it being a malaysian model.
The serial number has "AU" for the country code on it.
              The power plug is Australian.

After registering the serial number I got a confirmation email from "[email protected]" with the details I've entered. Seems quite legit.
As a test, I tried registering the same number serial number again, and it says it's already registered. So there's no way someone can register multiple times on the same serial number. So it doesn't look like they are using "copied" serial numbers.

Also, I used the hair dryer. Works great.

    • 3.3M cord, too long for home use. This is the professional item, everything else is the same.

      • The normal cord is 2.8m already.

    • Another expensive Ozbargain session, thanks mate.

    • Thank you boss. Bought one, hopefully it will make the wifey happy

    • +1

Thanks. Got one and they shipped today. Fiancee will be happy

      • For a second there i thought you said "finance will be happy".

  • +4

Yikes, if the wife asks, this never happened ok guys.

    • See my comment below - may or may not be a useful alternative option for you

    Good price!

For those looking for an alternative deal, I bought direct from Dyson in blue blush using the 5% Cashrewards code and additional 6% cashback. The blue blush colour comes with the additional presentation case (with optional debossing of initials), gift set (barrel brush and detangling comb), and optional gift wrapping.

    Total came to $448.19 ($499 - $24.95 coupon - $25.86 cashback)

While $50 more than this deal, I was more than happy to pay the extra for the personalised case, brush/comb and gift wrapping since it's a gift for my partner. Hopefully some others feel the same and will benefit!

For those still interested on the product's info despite OOS, Dyson's official product website: https://www.dyson.com.au/products/hair-care/stylists/dyson-s…

  • dam… this is the cheapest its ever been. I rather buy the missus this than a purse/wallet that cost the same amount as this.

    • +1

Now you've gone and mentioned it you'll have to get both or you'll be in la casa de canine for perceived stinginess.

  • Looks like it's back in stock, just fyi.

    • If it was isn't now. OzDare seems to still have though
