$1250 to max cap on regular cashback, $1000 for Westpac cashback. 35% on anything under $1000 is crazy good.

    • +1

I'm waiting for a deal now

    • +4

I believe it is actually $1375 max for regular cashback and $1100 for Westpac (cashback is calculated on the value excluding GST)

      • +1

That’s what they all say but some shops do and some don’t actually include GST.

  • +1

Would be nice to stack with this deal…, one day too late

    • +2

You’d still end up with it being cheaper. And your tax invoice will show a higher amount, if that means anything to you :)

      • True, so $1129 - $400? Crazy price $729

        • +3

Don’t quite max out the cashback on the 20% portion, but it’s just over $750.

      • But rep said
Bonus Cashback stacks with the code BLACKFRIDAY
        Why that deal expired?
        @ozvictor
        @atank

        • +6

Price went up on the laptop.

  • I am waiting for Lenovo to come out with a cheaper AI wearable or even better AI smart devices 😜

  • +3

Lenovo Go combined with 10% off = $1349.

    • 20% cash back to $250 + Westpac $150 = Legion Go for $949?
    • +4

The 10% off sign up coupon doesn’t appear on Cashrewards page so might be rejected never mind it seems like official coupons work but the 10% sign up coupon isn't listed on the Lenovo website can @gotyourback confirm?

      • +3

Checking on this, my instinct is that it should be fine but have reached out to Lenovo to confirm.

        • +3

Hey all, Lenovo got back to me, unfortunately this one doesn't stack with Cashback, they've also asked to remove the point about Lenovo official codes and have said they'll supply us with stackable codes in future to avoid this kind of confusion. Now, similar to most of our other merchants, if the code isn't listed on their page on our site, it's likely to invalidate Cashback.

          • @gotyourback: So for me who is about to order, and for the others that have already ordered where Lenovo automatically applies official code 'BLACKFRIDAY', does this mean we will or won't get the cashback for today's orders?

          • @gotyourback: Ok thanks for getting back to us

So the best today is 20% SB & 15% westpac when ordering a Legion Go

            • @aakash159: "Purchases made through Lenovo's Education store and Small Business store, staff discounts, corporate deals, and negotiated offers (phone/email/chat) are ineligible for Cashback."

    • Wow that’s great price

    • Shame the legion go gets such bad reviews.

      • Why?

        • Bad software, clunky ergonomics, battery life not great

          • @serpserpserp: The review I watched seem to be decent and better then the Ally and SD overall

            • @Twisty: Weird. On my reviews I've seen people prefer the steam deck and Rog over this. Software and ergonomics the consistent gripes in every review

              • @serpserpserp: This is a good one as it’s down to earth

                https://youtu.be/a_N8hSN4Pco?si=8n8vs0t05VA6JiZR

                • @Twisty: Remember the steam deck OLED is around the corner and likely to be able to be imported at $1,300 or under. So you can get a slightly lighter deck, way better screen and battery improvements in looking at the option.

Back to the legion go: The Pros are obvious and if you want to use it for outside of gaming it is a better device. But honestly the 1600p screen just makes performance bad on AAA titles. I am a native resolution guy myself, so if a device doesn't have the chops to run most games at native resolution I feel like it is a massive let down, I'd be much happier if this was a 1080p screen, that way everything will look and run pretty great I would say. Plus It would be cheaper. But it just feels under powered for a 1600p device. Maybe the next version will change my mind.

                  • @serpserpserp: Yer I’m keen on the OLED too but seeing this deal for the GO and the price of the OLED SD it makes it hard

                    • @Twisty: $300 difference (if this cash back works…) So it isn't a massive jump up.

                      • @serpserpserp: The cashback on the GO makes it cheaper then the 512gb OLED SD

        • No VRR, what were they thinking? With 30-60 fps with most titles, it makes such a difference!

          • @EpicSpaceLord: Does the Deck have VRR?

            • @Twisty: No, I don't think the deck has VRR. Just the RPG Ally.

              • @EpicSpaceLord: To be very honest I’m sooo confused what one to go with

Steam Deck OLED $1279 and wait for a better price or Legion Go Extreme now for $1099

              • @EpicSpaceLord: *typo - ROG Ally has VRR

                • @EpicSpaceLord: Her ROG Ally is out for me. Too many issues with that one

                  • @Twisty: It's a hard one for sure. They all have pros and cons. If the Steam Deck OLED was cheaper in aus (sub $1000), that would be my pick.

                    • +1

@EpicSpaceLord: Yer steam deck seems way to use but being $1279 grey import and the legion is $1099 today only is a real mind stuffer

                      • @Twisty: @twisty I'd be surprised if you didn't see the Legion Go back on sale at some point soon.

Playing a lot of games at 20-30fps at 800p doesn't sound like a good time really. Maybe if you were into emulation or light games it'd be good, but you could also go with cheaper options like the OG steam deck or even an Odin 2 for emulation/streaming/android gaming.

  • Rip those bought legion go too early. That’s $400 cash back damn

  • 20% cashback is live now

  • Is cashback per transaction or per account?

  • Can anyone share link of decent $1000-$1400 laptop (light weight, 16gb ram) for a high school student? After cashback it would be lot cheaper.

    • Perhaps the e14 series, under $1k and 1.6kg ish

Or if you want lighter then the x1 carbon gen10 but it's a bit over $1600 right now

Both have full suite of ports so no need to carry dongles as they are aimed at businesses.

Perhaps others will have more suggestions

    • You will probably want a touchscreen and stylus, our school requires that as a minimum (and that's at a public school)

      • With 16GB Ram this looks good
        ThinkBook 14s Yoga Gen 3 - $1370 before cashback
        Part number: 21JG001UAU

After cashback - $970 (with Max $400 cashback)
        Would that be right?

        • +2

From my experience Lenovo's yoga series has had pretty poor build quality. I would probably recommend a lower end ThinkPad instead. Check with the school if you need touch as I don't think most do.

          • @iPodVideo: oh really. Touch is definitely not school requirement for me was just good to have. But if build quality is compromised, I will look for ThinkPad now. Thanks mate.

        • This is "ThinkBook" Yoga, which has higher build quality that IdeaPad Yoga ("usually" better screen, aluminum top and/or bottom case and even integrated PEN (just like ThinkPad)! The internal hardware of ThinkBook is similar to IdeaPad (no trackpoint, even the BIOS will be different to Thinkpad). For school, I think ThinkBook is the entry level (but definitely OK) but ThinkPad will definitely be more premium (but it comes at a much higher price tag).

          • @bobokingdom: I am not comparing between
IdeaPad Slim 5 (14", Gen 8) AMD and ThinkBook 14s Yoga Gen 3

ThinkBook is expensive and has weight. I think that is more targeted for Business purpose.

            • @amsaini15: Weren't you suggesting the ThinkBook 14s Yoga? I was just supporting your suggestion.

I was just replying the comment about Yoga has poor built quality. As there are Yoga/IdeaPad Yoga and ThinkBook Yoga.

              • @bobokingdom: sorry mate. I am myself getting confused in all these names.
Which one would you recommend of the two below:

                ThinkBook 14s Yoga Gen 3
                Part number: 21JG001UAU (1.54 kg, $1370)

                or

                IdeaPad Slim 5 (14", Gen 8) AMD
                Part number: 82XECTO1WWAU2 (1.48kg, $1499)

                • @amsaini15: Does your kid handle expensive things with care?

I bought my son 12th Gen Intel of this laptop: https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/p/laptops/thinkpad/thinkpadl/thinkpad-l13-yoga-gen-4-(13-inch-intel)/21fjcto1wwau3

There was a promotion with 3 years onsite warranty included at that time. It is a good laptop, but my heart nearly stopped when my son accidentally dropped it on the floor.

                  • @bobokingdom: oh. Thats unfortunately. My son is going in Year 10 now. He is still not fully responsible as he had an incident in the past. I guess I have to trust him now knowing he will be in Year 10.
After cashbacks, above 2 laptops will turn out be around $1000 which should be ok. Currently he is using 2nd hand laptop and struggling with its battery life.

                • +2

                  @amsaini15: Depending on your budget:

                  IdeaPad Slim 5 (14", Gen 8) AMD
                  Part number: 82XECTO1WWAU1 (1.48kg, $869) - No WAY I will pay $1499!

                  Or

                  https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/p/laptops/yoga/yoga-2-in-1-series/yoga-7-gen-8-(14-inch-amd)/len101y0031
$1219 with OLED Screen. This is the cheap YOGA that I referred to. Build Quality is NOT as good as ThinkBook Yoga.

                  Or

                  ThinkBook 14s Yoga Gen 3
Part number: 21JG001UAU (1.54 kg, $1370) - not a bad choice for high schools.

No matter which one you choose, I suggest you buy the extended warranty (if budget allows) as well. Just get the cheapest On-Site warranty option, so you can the laptop fixed when something happened to it.

                  • @bobokingdom: Awesome suggestion mate. Thanks very much. I get you now.

I will go with ThinkBook 14s Yoga Gen 3. After cashback it will be around $1000.

question - Will cashback still work if Lenovo sales generate a quote for you and add it to your account in "My saved Quotes" section. Sales guy is giving further discount on advertised price but I dont want to risk cashback.

                  • @bobokingdom: Do you you how is these compare to the 14p https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/p/laptops/thinkbook/thinkbook-p/thinkbook-14p-gen-3-(14-inch-amd)/len101b0016?orgRef=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.google.com%252F#compatible_acc

  • Any recommendation for a good value gaming laptop at around $2k mark??

  • Oh wow, you could clean up with a maxed Legion Pro 7i 4090 build for a few pennies more than $4k.

    • +1

There was a 16% uncapped cash back at cashrewards only a few days ago. For expensive purchased like that, best to wait for that deal again.

    • I thought the legion slim on the site with the AMD and 4060 build wasn't a bad option for under 2 grand.

  • +1

Still waiting for pizza hut Westpac bonus to be tracked….

    • Mine tracked multiple times on pc and via shopback app on phone. What is your checkout process?

    • same, opened a case for it, no responses yet

      • how did you open case btw? the click histroy says tracked so cannot report missing track again by that…

  • What’s a recommended workhorse laptop mainly used for excel and movie watching ?

  • Lenovo have 10% off for newsletter sign up and 10% off for ZIP or Latitude (selected product) pay methods.

Do these stack with deal? They're not 'listed' discount codes, as condition for cashback', but discounts available through Lenovo themselves.

    • How can you add 2 discount codes? Aren't we using BLACKFRIDAY code?

      • BLACKFRIDAY doesn't work for the Legion Go item.

The only applicable discount that 'may' work with cashback is the 10% newsletter as others have informed that ZIP payment may disqualify the cashback.

  • What's the best/easiest route to become a Westpac customer to be eligible for these deals?

    • +1

Get a Westpac Credit Card, and you can get sign up bonus points as well :)

    • +2

westpac debit mastercard. requirement of $2000 in and out in a month and you dont have to pay $5 monthly fees.

    • +1

Debit card is free and quick

  • +1

ThinkPad T16 Gen 1 Intel Looks good for $1388, with max cash back brings it just under $1k

    • That caught my attention too, but I'm not sure about the 45%NTSC screen.

    • 3 years warranty included!

  • Can you use PayPal to complete the purchase and still receive the cashback?

    • I wont take the risk

    • They don't mention it anywhere in their terms, so it shouldn't impact Cashback whatsoever.

    • Not the Westpac component.

  • Has anyone tried using Lenovo rewards points for a portion of the payment?

Would the portion using credit/debit be eligible for cashback?
Or would that cause the entire purchase to be ineligible for cashback?

    • +1

Uh oh. Just placed a big order but it automatically applied a $2 reward discount in the checkout which I let go through. If that screws up my hundreds in cashback I'll be somewhat annoyed.

      • Hey mates, I'm confused by this because in their terms they state:

You may not be eligible for Cashback If you use MyLenovo Reward points as payment.

However I've seen some users report that the amount paid for by Rewards points is just deducted from the total and Cashback is paid on the remaining amount. I'm reaching out to Lenovo to get some more info on this, hopefully will hear back ASAP.

        • man.. hope we can use the rewards points as I have $125 which expires end of this month!

          • @derpderpderp: still no response from Lenovo regarding using Rewards points @gotyourback?

            • +1

@derpderpderp: @crikey Hey mates, confirmed that the amount paid for using your Rewards balance will be deducted from Cashback, but won't mean that Cashback is invalidated as whole, you're good to go!

              • @gotyourback: Ok so we will still get the 20+15% cashback for the cash portion of the purchase?

              • @gotyourback: Thanks mate! Put in my order and confirm that my cashback has been tracked! Appreciate your help!

        • +1

Thanks gotyourback. The full cashback amount has been tracked, so that's promising so far.

    • Yeah I stupidly used $2 of my reward points and I just read that my cashback might be rejected for using those 😔

  • I chatted with Lenovo sales and he has saved quote in my account.
@gotyourback Can you still get cashback if I make a purchase using that quote?.

    • +3

Hey mate, from the notes on my post:

Purchases made through Lenovo's Education store and Small Business store, staff discounts, corporate deals, and negotiated offers (phone/email/chat) are ineligible for Cashback.

Sorry to disappoint mate, best to check the notes/the terms on their page on our site before you shop.

      • Thanks mate. My bad. Didn't read.

      • I'm looking to purchase the Lenovo LOQ 15APH8. I understood the shopback portion of the cashback.

But how do I get the 20% Lenovo upsize cashback?

        • Unsure what you mean mate, 20% upsized Cashback is available through ShopBack today, just shop through ShopBack as normal. There's an additional 15% Cashback available for Westpac users, with instructions in my post body on how to redeem that. Do let me know if you need anything else clarified!

          • @gotyourback: Yeah I realised I just proceed with the transaction and both 20% and 15% was applied to my shopback account. Thanks!
