I bought my ended 3 pro 3 years ago from Banggood and I'm still loving it. Here is my largest overall print banana for scale.

    • Cool. Mind me asking where you got the dino print from?

    • I bought an S1 in July and would never dream of being able to print that on it, thankfully I just got approved for a refund, I don't think there was any level of tuning that could have made it print properly.

      That dino is unreal mate!

      • It's easier than you think.

        • 40+hrs of tuning and hundreds of dollars in "upgrades" and I still couldn't get a good first layer with a 0.08mm variance across the bed.

          P1S arriving tomorrow

    • is that were the dino's banana is as well?

  • Can anyone share thoughts on whether the upgraded kit means it's essentially the same as the neo (which is more popular from previous deals). Alternatively, are there other similar printers for beginners to go with?

    • The new V3 SE is on sale or the elegoo Neptune Pro 3 can be had for around $250 with eBay deals.

      • thanks @Stevesie76, been comparing these two models and they both seem well reviewed - would you lean towards one or the other?

        • +1

I would go the V3 SE. I have a V2 Neo and it’s a pretty good printer. The v3 seems better, direct drive, dual Z etc.

        • Either seem fine. A mate has the Elegoo 3 pro and loves it, I've seen the prints and it does a good job. I think either would be fine. If you buy from Creality there are welcome and daily discount codes.

    • Unless I'm missing something, I believe they mean "upgraded" compared to the original Ender 3.
Somewhat deceptive if true, considering the age of this model.

  • No self levelling - no sale in 2023

    • +2

You need to level it once, it takes 10 minutes. I am not paying extra to automate something that needs to be done once.

It's not that useless. More a quality of life improvement. Nice to have, good to learn without and then have a bitch about it when it malfunctions and you gottta troubleshoot. Rinse and repeat. 3d printer life.

It's even better when you buy one to install and then never install it.

Regardless, it's not a 2023 model and it's great deal. I'd buy this if I was starting today.

      • Really? I had to relevel mine every time I changed my plate and turned out my pei plate was a bit warped when I did created a mesh using the bl touch. I also got rid of the springs that came with it as I figured it was slack springs causing me issues. Hah

On my rat rig build I just went straight to inductive ABL.

I am using a stock glass plate, and haven't touched the plate and the adjusting bolts since the day I assembled it. In the end of each print job I just take my ABS print from the plate and that's it. No cleaning, no maintenance, no nothing - all works as a charm.

  • Very good deal! I paid more for a clone of Ender 3.

How is this comparing with another deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/811170 ?

    • Noob here. I think a major plus for ELEGOO Neptune 3 Pro is the auto levelling feature which Creality 3D Ender-3 V2 lacks? Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

      • And a plus for Creality one is the sheer size of community behind it? In case of troubleshooting, a lot of help available in a lot of places.

        • I have zero experiences or knowledge about 3D printer. Just be curious and get one if it's not costing too much for fun to enter the world. Thanks for your insight!

          • @NotRegYet: I'm just starting as well and went for the Elegoo one. I know myself and I'd have whinged about auto levelling (or the lack thereof) in Creality.

            • @rustyshackleford: seems the Elegoo one is slightly bigger 225x225x280 vs Creality as 220x220x250mm. Not sure if this is material. Maybe Elegoo could handle slightly bigger project? lol. I may go for Elegoo one for extra 50 bucks as well. Thanks sharing your thoughts.

              • @NotRegYet: Don't underestimate the community when you gotta fix the inevitable problems that will happen. Anything you wanna do or have to fix has already been done with ender or ender clones. I imagine the elegoo community would be building but from experience, enders is already there. Also parts for enders are readily available. I haven't got any experience with elegoo so maybe check that out too.

That extra build height and width will likely not be a deal breaker because when you print big, you'll be printing in sections, not all 1 piece.

              • @NotRegYet: No worries. I think the size is independent of the material. Yes Elegoo should be able to handle bigger pieces. I saw couple of review videos on Youtube and they all seemed positive for fresh starters like me. Also read that Elegoo has a direct drive extruder which the community prefers due to more reliable printing.

  • Finally taking the plunge. Any tips for a newbie? A good place to grab filament is probably my first stop, but I'll accept any advice.

  • Does filament make it a expensive or is it quite cheap altogether

  • I'm only getting down to a discounted price of $287 (AUD) with the code in checkout, nowhere near the $207 in the title. Am i missing something? Help appreciated =)

    • hi, the coupon still active, you can try again, pls do't forget to choose the "freeshiping" button

      • Hi! Thank you for following up.
The free shipping option works when adding to cart - but it is removed after I proceed to checkout, where it adds $45.84USD for shipping to the order. It has a note that says "There are some products that cannot participate in free shipping activity." and the option for free shipping is not available (from the checkout screen).
It may be my location or something, but thank you, I appreciate the help!

  • I received mine in the mail a few days ago, after assembly, leveling the bed and printing a few tests I'm just realising the description mentioned something about a smart filament sensor? Is this a missing addon I should bother banggood over?
