This or Chromecast with Google TV
My thinking is, if you need to cast from random sites from your Android phone or Chrome, then the Chromecast.
Fire TV will 'only cast / act as a remote from apps, eg YouTube, SBS, or use some half-baked third party casting apps.
If you want Amazon Prime Video or NHK World, then Fire TV.

Depends on your needs, I've been happy the Chromecast with Google TV 4k but probably moving to this Firestick purely for the AV1 support, my library is filling up with this file type and I'd rather not transcode.
My concerns are amazon moving away from android and trying to block sideloading. changing launchers.
My Chromecast 4k remote jumps around and runs off with many clicks. No known fix at this point and many people reporting the issue.
Is the 2023 4k (non max) better then the first gen 4k max model.
What's the difference between 1st gen and 2nd gen?
