Just make sure you double check your schoo's BYOD requirements, some schools will insist on you having Windows and don't support Chromebook.
If chromebooks are allowed then this laptop is an OK choice for school, but you really should get 14inch and under. This laptop weights 1.73KG

Any idea why there is restrictions on ChromeOS at some school? Just curious.
Do you recommend any other Windows laptop 14inch and under in similar price range which I can keep eye on for ongoing and upcoming sale time?
@bluespider: If the school uses a Windows only application in their curriculum ain't gonna work on a Chromebook :P
Research indicates no backlit keyboard though if thats a deal breaker.
Tempting as I love decent Chromebooks, not sure about CPU cooling fan noise, and same as no
backlit keyboard is for me also a dealbreaker these days lol.
my nephew has this laptop.. it runs buttery smooth and the battery lasts much longer than advertised
Any idea if the cooling fan in this laptop is very audible when it kicks in ?
basically out of stock everywhere. Rang Marsden Park, and they couldn't see stock in any nearby store either.
