Who is paying $1,000 for a 100ah lithium battery?

    • +3

Bargain hunters! Normal price is $200 more and we sell lots at that price.

There are real quality differences in lithium batteries. This one will run a 1800W inverter, has a stainless steel case, as touchscreen that can be installed anywhere in the camper/caravan/4WD, uses automotive grade cells, can charge laptops without a charger, 5 year warranty, etc.

Fair enough! Given they can be found for around 1/3 of the price, appreciate the explainer. Didn't realise it wasnt just the battery. Thanks!

        • can be found for around 1/3 of the price

A big factor is quality and reliability… A lot of people heading off on overland/desert trips are happy to spend more for quality, the 'quality battery' costs are quite insignificant in relation to the amount of money they invest in the whole trip…

Plus the hassle and logistics of replacing a failed battery while on a long trip in a remote area, it's just not worth cheaping out on such an essential item… (Personally I wouldn't trust a cheapie for a Canning Stock Route trip or the likes)

  • Battery noob here. I know the deal is expired but wont mind buying now or when another sale comes.

In my car boot, there is a cigarette lighter port as well as a 220v port (max 180w). Can any of those be used to charge this battery or has to be hardwired to a 12v source?
