Imagine actually giving this piece of 💩 company a cent after everything they have done.

They were only fined $3.6m for the deaths.

But being the total scum bags that they are, to recoup most of the fine they took $3 million dollars of tax payers money that was meant for koala research and used it to pay for their new roller coaster.

they were being given that money for the koalas right, so it isn't related to the fine?

they were being given that money for the koalas right

And yet they didn’t use it to help kolas.

so it isn't related to the fine?

        It basically negated the fine.

Would be like getting a speeding ticket for $500. Then going to the government saying you’re a charity and getting a $450 grant and then using the $450 on groceries for yourself. So essentially you’re out of pocket $50 and tax payers paid for the rest of your fine.

This isn't an accurate summary of what happened. Dreamworld got Government approval to repurpose the funding:

The park was given the green light to “repurpose” the funding.

“The Queensland government approved that the funding previously approved for the research facility be repurposed to support the construction of the new ride, taking into consideration the immediate impacts of the pandemic and the appeal of new tourism offers likely to attract returning domestic visitors and international tourists when borders reopened,” Hinchliffe said.

        And? Don’t make it right.

  • How long before you have to activate?

    • +1

As soon as you purchase as per ops description

  • I’m sorry, a single day entry to Dreamworld is $105 now?!

    • I’d be super unhappy if I paid that much to go.

  • this way of marketing really highlights how much of a ripoff they are

  • Just so you all know, a lot of areas have been closed off due to new construction/new rides.
    Not worth it.

    • Agree I went for halloween . Was sub par

  • Think they actually need an id from qld?
We are based in Nt but visit Queensland a lot

Put a Qld address when purchasing ticket. All done via an app now they don't validate

They do when you get there. Try look at the postcode on your drivers license. Least they use to, don’t see why it would be different now.

  • Any village roadshow deals?

    • They've got a Locals Lite Annual Pass on the site. Not really cheap, but the Village theme parks are always expensive

I went a few weeks ago as a friend had a spare ticket.

It sucked. It’s gotten so bad. I went on the newish (poorly themed) coaster, and The Giant Drop, then left. It’s sad to see they’ve let it run down to its current state.

Maybe WWW might be worth it, but I’m positive Dreamworld isn’t; even at this price.

  • Not a deal - only a month ago this pass was available to locals for only $79 - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/803368

  • Seems to be 129 now
