  • Thanks Op

  • Free to get water tested at the pool shop, but now I don't have to feel guilty about getting the test results then going somewhere cheaper to get the chemicals.

    • I noticed Poolwerx now advertising as free when you buy something.

      • +3

Won't be going to Poolwerx in the future then.
        Free* lol

        • I would be OK with it, but I don't trust them , at all, not to sell me stuff I don't need.

    • Poolwerx lady scolded me about this lol never went back out of shame

Still going to bunnings but balancing off of colours not exact numbers and ppms

      • Have also copped this treatment from another shop lol

    • I work off the pool is crystal clear, Murray River looks like a liquid turd. People happily swim in the Murray. Pool must be alright…yeah missed this deal. ..

  • The link to me just enters an indefinite search loop. Weird.

  • Thanks OP, great xmas gift for Dad :)

  • oos?

  • Awesome, bargain, $5 delivered, thanks!

  • Oos

  • Ran out of stock just as I was submitting PayPal, ugh :(

    • Now I've received an email from them advising:
      1. They noticed a problem with my order (which missed submission by seconds)
      2. We are holding your order for 72 hours
      3. Advising what they are holding is that item and that it is "In-Stock Now Ready for Shipping"
      4. However the item remains out of stock and my cart advising the product no longer available

Something in their system doesn't know what the other thing in their system is doing :)

  • Doh just missed out

  • Went to fill my basket with everything else I needed and now out of stock. Bummer

  • Damn missed out!

When the (profanity) are we getting some simple IoT device that floats in the pool and tells me what I need? I feel like balancing pool water has remained the same for the last 100 years.

    • Sign me up!

I saw someone on home assistant that was making a floating temperature sensor, but I want to be able to monitor more than that

    • I think the problem will always be electronic devices which measures these things require regular calibrations (especially the pH)

      • +1

Based on my qualifications in absolutely nothing there has to be something better than trying to interpret shades of colour on a strip of cardboard and mixing coloured inks in a Dick Smith electronic kit. Someone has to be able to progress this area somewhat. Same with robo vacs. Cordless and map-aware, like my dude inside the house. Same thing but in the pool and not an industrial $14,000 machine.

    • How often do you need to do this? Is it worth the expense for a device that fails after a couple of years and needs to be replaced?

These test kits are dead easy to use, and if I need a dozen tests per pool season, that's about it. Not worth looking for alternatives.

I knew I saw one somewhere! Its not cheap though

  • One day I'll get this deal. Always too late

    • Same here! Although not sure if this would be ok for my salt water pool?

Plus the nearest pool shop charges $15 to do a pool water test if I bring a sample to them 😒 it’s free if I buy something from them if needed but I’m hoping anything I need I can just go to Bunnings for it right?
