Speaking of Cricut, how good was Travis's catch yesterday !!!!

  • For those unaware, this looks like the old model. The current model is the maker 3.

I have an explore air 2, and honestly… I can't recommend them. The App that is required to use the machine is slow on a phone or ipad, and nearly unusable on a pc or Mac. If you are just looking to do some like, stick on name tags and stuff it's fine, but for making decent stickers, stencils, or anything of the sort the software is a nightmare and the machine is too dumb to so anything but follow the software, so you regularly end up making things that are over or under-sized because the software decided that no, you don't need things to be correct down to the millimetre actually

Beyond that, the software is extremely limited since cricut decided to become a subscription service, with a lot of basic functioned pay walled behind a monthly payment.

If you just want it for some live laugh love arts and crafts, it's fine, but if you want an actual decent vinyl cutter, you're better off looking elsewhere.

Bleh, I'm so sick of all of this subscription bullshit.

    • @TheRealCJ is there a decent vinyl cutter you recommend instead please?

      • Not OP but I've heard good things about Silhouette and it looks like spotlight sells them now. I've got a Cricut Joy myself and works for the most part for what i want. I mostly just create images/text outside the program and then upload it as an image so I don't have to use their BS subsciption service. I haven't had too many issues with cricut software so far so it works for me.

      • I'm inclined toward the Brother Scan N Cut, personally, but the silhouette cutters are also pretty decent from what I've heard.
