Question about Costco warranty - I buy this right now while I have an active membership with Costco. Next membership renewal, I do not renew my membership and there's some issues with this vacuum. Can I still get help from Costco without a membership while the product is still under warranty?

I believe the Costco warranty policy has changed in the recent times. I reported an issue with a TV I bought from them and even though my membership is still valid they asked me to go back to the manufacturer. So in all likelihood you will have to go to Dyson for warranty who in my experience are also really good.
Actually under Consumer Rights Act, they aren't allowed to push the customer to the manufacturer for warranty claims. The transaction was made between you and Costco, not Dyson so Costco must be the one to perform the warranty claim on your behalf.
Costco can change their policy all they want but it won't override Australian consumer law. The customer has the right to pursue warranty claims with either the retailer or the distributor. It is at the customer's discretion.
@Bruceflix: They did suggest the same to me with a galaxy watch; as they said that it would be a repair job so would be quicker for me to deal directly with the manufacturer (wouldn't charge out of the box).
In the end I spoke with the manager, and she just wrote it off and replaced the watch instead of having to deal with sending it back for repair/assessment etc.
