it's using ChinCon capacitors on a lot of the power delivery system.

I'd rather trust Cash converters to give me a good deal that ChinCon capcitors

ALC897 is a SHOCKING bad Audio solution as well.

X670E motherboard with one full length PCIe slot….

Have been out of the PC building scene (currently researching for new build) - besides a GPU, what parts utilise the full length PCIe slot?

Down votes? Why buy this for just gaming, get B650. If it's used for a workstation duties, cards like, 10G, 25G, quad 1Gig, HBA card, second small video card for pass through etc. None of which can be used with this flagship AM5 chipset.

Downvotes didn't come from me - was genuinely curious. So having more than one full length PCIe slot is a waste with AM5s

          • @GrabOzB: Depends on your use case, the vast bulk of people whack GPU in the primary full length slot and that's it.

Others like me, play with virtualization, servers etc and for their flagship chipset, might have expected more than one.

At the very least ASRock sometimes remove the back of the pci slot, so you can at least physically put longer cards in, even if they electrically don't get to use the rest of the slot.

Just seemed silly to me to go one slot on X670E

Because this board comes with FIVE M.2 NVME slots. At this price it's a really good deal. This is the same price range as premium B650 boards (for example the hugely popular Gigabyte B650 Aorus Elite AX), and this board also already has all the premium features of premium B650 boards (8 layer PCB for better memory OC, huge amount for VRM stages etc.). It's like you are paying the price of a premium B650 board for a premium X670E board.

Of course you can go with the more budget oriented B650 boards, those can be bought at less than 300 dollars and will work just fine. But if anyone is looking into the more expensive spectrum of the B650 boards, there's no reason to pick any of those when this deal exists, unless you really really want more than one full size PCI-e slot.

sli exists no more, time to adapt

      • Has nothing to do with SLI. It wasn't mentioned.

It's a gamer mindset, the only use for more than one slot is SLI?

  • Very good price for the specs

  • Nice one. This is cheaper/in similar'ish price brackets than many of the B650 boards on ebay. Even with the 20% off code lol.
