These cards can be used to purchase from the US Nintendo store, where prices for digital versions of Switch games are often lower than here. Target allows you to create an account and the cards are delivered instantly, electronically.

Very easy to create a US-based Nintendo account and the games work fine alongside content from the AU store.

amazon.com also has 10% off right now but would not allow me to purchase them.

  Probably the way to go if you want to get some games that are otherwise not available on the Australian eShop due to stupid reasons.

  E.g. Mary Skelter Finale, which has been Refused Classification in Australia (while in the US it's rated as M17+, exactly the same as Mary Skelter 2), is currently available for 70% off at USD $14.99.
