        50% = 24 mins…

        • +1

If we're doubling the discount and halving the time I reckon it's 26 minutes 15 seconds?

    • +2

its not, because it isn't eligible: "delivered by 30th November 2023" That is simply impossible condition. There is several months wait time.

      • +2

This deal is only for vehicles in stock by the looks

      • +1

The Jimny is on the Black Friday pricing list

        • It is on the list, but read the small text below:

Private buyers only, limited to 2 vehicles per customer. Vehicles must be ordered between 12pm – 2pm on 24th November 2023 and delivered by 30th November 2023 to be eligible for this offer.

There is no new jimny which could be ordered on 24th and delivered on 30th. There are several month waitlists on it. In theory, it could be applied on demo vehicles, but IMHO, no dealer will do that - why would they give discount on car which is in such demand?

  • 5 door jimny coming in Jan, already seen in Vic
    Much more practical.
Not on the pricing sheet #cry

    • +4

5 door Jimny are India built by Maruti, 3 door is the go

      • +5

with parts sent from Japan though.
Will go through and tighten the bolts haha

        • +4

It's built in India from the ground up, just like the Baleno, Alto and the old Sierra Stockman

          • @Juniormin: oh, in that case i hope the quality is japan acceptable, otherwise sad face

            • @Headless: Will be OK-ish probably due to Suzuki quality control measures but not as good a Japanese fully-built version.

              • @King Tightarse: Thanks for the advice, i did read that india doesn't put covers underneath on some of the circle channels (frame) so the water and grime gets in, easily solved by ordering them separately

        • +1

i heard Maruti suzuki's built quality is very bad, at least the cars sold in India. Hope their export cars are of better quality.

          • @mikeleemy: Market requirements are lower, and India pricing is most sensitive, so features standard in some markets may actually be optional in India.

Modern production still deploys production in model groups, so Au (or Au/RHD market models) can easily have different configurations.

Also it is quite probable that the production line will be state of the art, and as good or even better than anywhere else. Lessons learned in Japan may be applied in India before they can in Japan, (eg. implement certain changes in Japanese factories), and also things like robots and paint lines will be newer.

Maruti may have PR issues, and some may be due to prior production issues (IDK), but given their long-term market share and propensity to produce old models for a long time, I can't see them ever achieving a good reputation in the modern-day social media environment no matter what they supply in India. And given Maruti is the partner Suzuki has used very successfully in the past (to attain massive market share, so must be doing something right).

has anyone any reason to think the necessary resourcing will be limited, or that Suzuki won't do its QA and production any worse than Japan. Only the first shipments will demonstrate the truth, of course.

    • +1

Still a 1.5L engine from what I’ve read. Wished they offered a turbo 4pot upgrade

    • +6

biased opinion from a 3-door jimny owner. a 5 door jimny isn't really a jimny anymore. with a longer wheelbase, it loses the characteristic jimny manoeuvrability. and it complete honesty, the elongated look of it completely destroys the jimny's aesthetic.

    • +3

Current Jimny is 2 people and enough gear for a decent, short trip. 5 door Jimny is 4 people and no gear. This is a 2 person vehicle basically .Stick with the 3 door and save some money. Japan over India too.

      • Having owned some zooks, 3- door sierras, vitaras, jimnys are 1 person cars for any reasonable length trip. They're miserably small for any good trip with two people.

You can absolutely manage, I did for years, but if you want to camp and explore, the 5 door is going to be significantly more convenient.

LWB vitaras are better hill climbers too in my experience, so a longer wheel base isn't going to particularly impact off road capability.

Yeah, I had one for 18 months. Greatest car, except for 1) travelling for long distances with more than two people, and 2) highway driving when it is very windy / rainy (very white knuckle).

Oh, and the stock speakers are terrrrible.

      • +3

A friendly suggesting to seek help/therapy. Being confidant in your own skin is a good thing.

      • -4

You can be confident and also like driving nice cars. Not all cars are vanity and show off vehicles.

                @beltdrive: 👨‍❤️‍👨

                • @Lets Make Sandwiches: So whats a "nice car"?

                  • -5

@Spendmore: I would say a nice car is dependant on the person. You may like cars that go fast, feel luxurious, are classics, etc. It should also be aligned with gender, as unpopular as that opinion may be with the wokies. For example, men driving a VW beetle…….no good. Or woman driving an RX3 rotary or an XY falcon……yeah no good.

A don't see how a suzuki whatever checks any of these boxes. They are just crapboxes that go slow, look ugly, and lose huge amounts of value fast.

                    • +2

@Lets Make Sandwiches: do you also think women shouldn't have the vote?

                      • @Raynes: Nice strawman.

                      • -1

@Raynes: Suzuki whatever model is the vehicle of choice for beta males chasing blue haired overweight wokies from inner city melbourne. Self respecting real men don't buy these cars.

                    • @Lets Make Sandwiches: Rx3 rotary or XY falcons arent nice cars.
Also i didnt see you list any capable offroad vehicle so your suggestions are irrelevant.

                      • -1

@Spendmore: They are classics. I have defined classics as nice cars, which they can be if looked after. And they were examples - I'm not a fan of offroad vehicles but I'm sure there are nice ones. Don't really care if you find my suggestions relevant or not.

                        • @Lets Make Sandwiches: So there in lies the truth, what appears nice to you or masculine to you does not reflect everyone. I think you would find a guy in a jimmny set up for offroad adventure would be pretty appealing to a lot modern women.
Ultimately its your perception of image that you have commented on and as you see its not a common perception in these modern times.

                          • @Spendmore: There is no world where a 1 tonne 4wd is masculine. If you're talking offroad, you're talking ranger, landcruiser, RAM. Jimmy is a beta vehicle no doubt.

                            • @Lets Make Sandwiches: Thats a very 70's way of thinking.
Cars dont define masculinity, if a girl drives a XB gt is she masculine?

                              • @Spendmore: I would say XB GT is a bit butch, so yes I would say not feminine. As much as people like to think womens preferences have changed, when it comes to dating they still like tall, muscular, wealthy, and white (well women here anyway). Women liked that in the 70's and they like it now. Don't believe everything you hear from people like clementine ford - they are not the women men are chasing and will live a single life with their cats forever.

                              • @Spendmore: Wait so if a man drives a hot pink car with floral patterns all over it, it doesn't make you question his masculinity at all?

                • @Lets Make Sandwiches: Bruh, you're calling him gay when the only sex that's jerking off over what car you drive is men. Make that make sense 😂

                  • @[Deactivated]: Not really. Women are attracted to it to but for a different reason - not what the car can do, but the status it projects. Some guy driving a bomb is not an attraction - he may be wealthy, but it doesn't project a sense of wealth.

    • this, or be a (profanity) in a 5L Mustang. mmm?

  • +2

Vehicles must be ordered between 12pm – 2pm on 24th November 2023 and delivered by 30th November 2023 to be eligible for this offer.

Wait is this a trick? Are most of those cars even in stock with dealers for a delivery in under a week? Wouldn’t the deal be invalid for most of these cars?

    • +1

As long as you sign the contract for the price and put a down payment, that clause becomes invalid

  • +2

10% negotiated discount used to be the norm for new cars. how depressing. also why do they exclude qld?

    • Northern NSW and QLD operate under a different importer/distributor to the rest of "Suzuki Australia" and thus have their own pricing/dealer model.
Cars are identical and idk why this structure exists, but I'm sure Michael Pachota (MD of Suzuki Australia) is on this page so I'll let him answer

      • Not sure if it's still the case, but previously some of the models differed slightly, or had a different name compared to the rest of the country. 🤷🏽‍♂️

        • Yep. There were a couple of special editions that were QLD-only cars.

    • What do you mean "used to be the norm"???!

There was a short period of time where supply chain issues existed.

I wonder if we're through that yet? ;)

I'll be getting another Swift Sport during the sale.
