because if a game is popular you dont usually put it on sale so soon

Do you need to play Alan Wake 1 first?
Without playing #2, I would assume yes, but it's a very good game and you should play it first.
if you want too, but i would at least watch a 20minyoutube recap or something if u don't wanna go back to a pretty old game(even with the remaster)
friend is currently playing 1 and hes pretty over the gameplay parts though he is liking the story.
If you look at Remedy… Quantum Break, Control, etc. They all get discounted pretty fast and end up free on epic games in a year or so
By that same logic plenty of other games also got heavily discounted and ended up on subscription services. Alan Wake 2 is an amazing game and if you wanted to avoid the obvious spoiler might wanna play it early. Besides the launch price wasn't even that high compared to other AAA games and Epic having sole distribution rights on PC want to slash their prices even further for an almost new game - be my guest. But that should not be a reflection on the quality of Remedy games really.
