Yes true these are definitely off season passes.
us $571 for 3 months youth pass (under 27) is amazing value! Less that A$10 a day, and long-distance night trains make for cheap hotels :-)
have to pay reservation fees for night trains for the most part just FYI - still a good deal overall though

The golden days of eu rail are over. U have to prebook most trains and pay a surcharge.the days of just hopping on and off trains are gone sadly
Anyone have insight to how early you need to reserve seats on some of the more popular routes? Wondering if a week or 2 is enough or likely to book out
