  • Does it have Australian electrical certification?

  • +2

It said 1 year Australia warranty, I guess it is worth paying the extra from buying in taobao international for ¥189 (~$AU 40) + delivery.

  • Why does rice cooker need to be smart?

Good thing the pot has ceramic coating.

Had a look at ozbargain favourite rice cooker at tgg. Was let down that the panasonic uses some cheap non stick coating. Ended up buying breville rice box instead.

    • Where did you see it's ceramic? The title says non-stick coating alloy, sounds and looks a lot like teflon.

My last 2 rice cookers were cheap $60 kambrook and then the $25 replacement woolworths one because the kambrook caught on fire after 6 odd months of use. The woolies one proceeded to catch on fire first cook after replacing the kambrook. They both seemed to be the same device with different labelling. (Using a kmart one atm with no issues but going to buy a Cuckoo/Zojirushi tomorrow if the prices don't drop further)… If anyone knows any bargains on those please share

    • thats a user error

      • +2

You mispelled "terrible luck". I rinsed the rice, I put the rice in the dry bowl, i added water, turned it on and caught on fire. Not sure what my error was considering the kmart one has had no issues…
