    Silly price. Paid $220 earlier in the year.

    Best used as part of an existing Sonos system though rather than a standalone speaker.

    Most other mainstream brands of BT speaker will fulfill the role of being a standalone portable speaker much better than this does. (E.g. Sony, JBL etc…)

      Completely disagree, it’s incredible as a standalone speaker for its size. Wifi connection, not to mention Sonos app etc. A portable speaker is more than just the sound that comes out.

      Stupidly low price.

        I speak from being well into the Sonos ecosystem at home and just couldn't recommend it personally if I wasn't. Having to faff around with its own app as well as the super janky physical button to toggle modes on this speaker detract heavily from its simplicity of use. Just my take

          I’ve got a house full of sonos gear and aside from initial setup/room tuning I don’t think I’ve ever opened the app.

          The control buttons work perfectly, the power button is like a 3/10 though.

          Sound is excellent for a speaker this size. Not having to use BT is the real win.

            @jjcf: Agree. Sound is great standalone and as part of a system.

            Don't know what the issue is about buttons and modes.. "hey google, play Spotify xx play list on Sonos Roam" 3 seconds later it's pumping music out!

            I've never had it above 60% even when using it at a kids party in the park.

            This is a ridiculous price, I'm getting another one!

              @bmxr: Sonos is fine with spotify. But annoying if you use YouTube music. You can't cast directly from YouTube music to the speakers and need to use the sonos app (which sorta sucks)

                @hazwing: Couldn't agree more with @hazwing I have a house full of sonos stuff… and I don't like spotify. Very very tempted to replace it all with something that supports chromecast. Because I would muccccch rather use that when I'm playing things like podcast and select which speakers I want, than the sonos sets which don't work with my google home speakers.

          what about connectivity? using bluetooth, you cant take a phone call whilst the music is playing. If you get a message or incoming call it abruptly interrupts music. browsing facebook and a loud ass video all of a sudden accidently plays for the whole room to hear. Sonos doesnt have any of that when playing via the app over wifi

      Agreed. Sonos app sucks and their slightly shady reliability/update standards are bit of a concern. But yeh good bang for buck if you're invested in their system.

      It has airplay 2, which allows you to play from Spotify iOS app to the speaker. No need for Sonos app to play music. But you’ll need the Sonos app to set up the speaker.

      Can attest to the battery issue. Mine completely died. Found replacement battery on Amazon and instructions on YouTube. One hour later was fixed and been great since.

      Sonos support on the battery issue was absolutely gross though. I’ve a decent amount of Sonos stuff and it’s given me real pause to invest much deeper.

          You can find it cheaper if you shop around, for example eBay. This one has worked flawlessly for me for 6 months at least.

          I also think the battery issue was because Sonos borked a firmware update and I think they chose to just push through vs address the issue. Since updating I’ve had zero power drain issues.

            Only asking this question as I am starting to notice a battery drain issue with my JB Link 10 device (purchased last year) even though it is always connected to power via the factory supplied micro-USB cable.

                That's the first thing I checked.
                It is connected to a Anker GaN charger (with the minimum required W easily provided).
                This issue started happening in the last month or so.
