    • thanks got it free with telstra points :)

  • Does this quick charge Apple Watch 9?

    • Says phone and earbuds on the listing, which it works for me, unfortunately i don’t have a apple watch

  • Just grabbed one plus 2 year warranty included! Able to grab instore no click and collect

  • Planning to buy one but then I read the reviews

    • Works fine for me

      • Now I'm really confused and conflicted :)

        • Yea I’m not sure why it doesn’t work for them maybe their charger

          • @JXXY1337: Tons of variables. Unless there's lots of reviews saying the same thing, then it's usually a PEBCAK problem! ;)

    • +1

Bit late but I've got this model, it works great for iPhones and wireless earbuds etc. Most Androids it needs to be placed on perfectly and the charging pad isn't actually that big. Mostly works okay, paid $5 for it and for that price can't complain.

Also umm take off your phone case if it's not connecting properly lol. A lot of the reviewers don't realise this I don't think.

      • worked fine with my case on but depends on the thickness

        • If it's a thin, clear or MagSafe case yes.

      • "Also umm take off your phone case if it's not connecting properly lol."

what. do you mean take the case off your phone to charge every time? plugging in a cable to charge is going to be quicker than that.

        • If it doesn't connect properly take it out of the case to charge rather than assume the charger just doesn't work.

          • @pennypincher98: oh ok.

but still after reading the reasoning for the raised center in a comment below (reason is to allow space for camera bump) it doesn't make sense to me. don't 95% of people put a case on their phone straight away? I mean I don't blame them to protect the $1000 investment.
so I think most accessories should be designed to work with phones with cases which means no camera bump. I mean that's why they even designed all new phones with camera bump right? because everyone puts a case on so it's not a problem when the phone doesn't lay flat.

            • @harshbdmmaster718: Yeah the problem lies in the technology of wireless charging, it needs a contact point. MagSafe is actually great at its got a big conductive coil which magnetises to the base, and MagSafe cases are widespread.

A lot of phones have bigger camera bumps which often mean thicker cases to protect these, which in turn reduce the effectiveness of the coil (which tbh are sometimes already lacking). Most can get around this by having a cradle or other mechanism which will sit the phone in the place that will provide peak conductivity, but this is just a basic wireless charger so it misses out on that.

For $5 it's worth it for my wireless accessories, but I don't use it for my phone.

              • @pennypincher98: yeah some cases are thicker than others just by design I think. I had a $15 Amazon cheapie, and thought it was great it's grippy and protected my phone well. but got a magsafe charger and it wouldn't stick. so I got this cheap $17 Magsafe certified case from Cygnett https://www.cygnett.com/products/magsafe-case-for-iphone-12-… + 15% for new accounts btw.

anyway some things I instantly noticed, the case at the back is a bit thinner but still no problem with camera bump the phone lays flat. I also noticed something interesting, not sure if it's because it's magsafe certified. but the magnetic circle inside has a different material to the case just where the circle is. it's white and almost looks like fabric paper or something. I assume it's to allow better wireless power to pass through and maybe helps with reducing heat as well. no problem with case rigidity by the way it's no different in keeping shape to any other case.

anyway yeah so overall case is a bit thinner (didn't notice the Amazon cheapie was thick until I took it off) but still no issue with camera bump on magsafe certified case.

  • bought one at $5 using $10 voucher. it works great with iphone with quadlock case.

    Thanks OP!

  • it's a good price but why is the middle raised like that? doesn't that just make it wobbly for larger phones?

I guess the idea behind it was to make it easier to center the phone. they should just make guides so you can place the phone in the perfect position every time.

    • It’s raised to help cool the phone or something. It’s not so wobbly like it’s gonna fall off by a gust of wind or something

      • ok for keeping cool didn't know that. but still weird, I mean if you go to tap towards the top of the screen on a large phone I think it will wobble.

not just the charger in your deal either, most wireless chargers I always think what the heck about the design. I think the best is probably the ones built into stands which are stable you can use those without wobble while they charge. also Apple magsafe puck is quite handy for holding the phone while it's charging thanks to the magnets, that's only for iPhoen though.

        • +1

Yea, it will wobble. Its not actually for cooling the phone. It states "Raised charging platform
The raised charging surface was specifically designed to support the latest phone models with larger cameras, delivering a consistent and reliable charging experience."

  • It's good when it works, however I find with my 14 pro it's extremely finicky to get into the exact spot for it to charge properly. Otherwise it charges for a few seconds and then stops.

    • iphone has magnets inside for perfect alignment with magsafe type chargers. doesn't have to be an apple charger, I have a non-apple wireless powerbank with all the magsafe magnets including the strip so you get perfect alignment every time.
worth mentioning you need a magsafe case (doesn't have to be apple brand) as well. I tried without magsafe case and there just isn't any magnetism. with magsafe case it's rock solid.
