I went with the TCL C845 based on the general consensus online of TCL > Hisense.
One point is the TCL operating system is Google vs the Hisense VIDAA.The review I read says the TCL c845 is better than even the Hisense u8.
This is a really good price for the u7 though.
TCL release the same models as we get in the EU. So there's some reviews to go off at the very least. Not RTINGS level of reviews, but there's still decent ones out there.
Hisense release specific AU models not available anywhere else. That means no reviews or accountability since we have no reputable sources reviewing TV's here. They take full advantage of this and give us junk that no one calls out.
This seems like good value so I bought one. Planning to use it for Xbox gaming. Bought mine from Binglee with the (hopefully) 6% Shopback discount.

Hisense 75-inch A7KAU 4K UHD LED Smart TV $1142I went with the C845 over this even tho a little more expensive as it has google and heaps more dimming zones, 2000nit vs 1000nit , which the U7 only hits 800nits in reviews but this is a good price and probably a better deal then c485 due to being $500 cheaper (75" vs 75")
I was looking at the Sony x90k for 1600(75”) but now I’m wondering if this Hisense is a better deal? Is mini led better ?
mini led is much brighter so it pushes LED closer to OLED and OLED is the best… having the miniled means there is more visible difference between bright and dark images onscreen and yeah I would say comes close to OLED at a much cheaper price
where do you get x90k for 1600?
Sony eBay plus but it is a certified refurb. 1899 + stack two coupons(120 + 10%) to take a little over 300 off and it comes out just below 1.6k.
They also have x80 and x 85 for closer to 1 k with coupons. Would post them up but don’t really know if it’s a good deal or not

Went to TGG store with my friend who is torn between X90L and C845 leaning towards C845 because it’s cheaper and mini led equiped. However this Hisense deal came out which is too attractive. By bare eyes the TCL definitely wins as it’s darker black and the colour is more vibrant might because its higher brightness. However, we both agreed the difference doesn’t justify $500 hence he ordered this one. Gonna wait 2 weeks for free delivery. No stock available ATM.
