BlackVue DR750X-2CH PLUS Dual Channel Dash Cam $474.05 Delivered @ SPORTGPS

Sorry not a regular poster so hopefully did everything by the book.

Just ordered a Blackvue DR750X PLUS -2CH - Dual Channel Dash Cam 1080p 60FPS from SPORTGPS.

List price $499 with free shipping, apply the coupon and it comes down to $474.05.

I did some research on the seller and it seems to be a long running brick & mortar shop operating from Queensland with some really good customer reviews.

  • I don't believe they are am authorized seller of Blackvue dash cams though.

I queried this via private message and they never responded to me.

If you have any issues Blackvue won't assist.

What would the issues be, DOA, stopped working?
If you're in Australia, you get one warranty and the seller must cover it because they sell you the gadget not BlackVue!

      • It's just good to have the safety net of manufacturer warranty in case the seller washes their hands of responsibility.

I know there's ACL etc but sometimes you can avoid that by going straight to manufacturer.

Australian consumer laws protect everyone with a standard 1 yr warranty.
      I don’t see the problem.

Just purchased, thanks for the bargain!

I've bought through them with no issue. No after sales necessary so can't speak to that.

Just bought one.. Use code "XMASDASH" for 10% off. Thanks OP.

  • Is this the one able to take a sim card? Looks like it is not.

  • I apologise for a newb question, why should I consider a Blackvue over a Viofo ?

    • +1

I wouldn't recommend Blackvue. They are one of the scummy companies that started their service fully featured and then slowly took away features to hide them behind a paywall subscription after some of us purchased the products. They are no more reliable than a cheap dash cam. In fact I'm going through troubleshooting now for mine because the latest firmware update bricked the unit and customer service has been next to useless. They immediately check if you are using their SD cards, and if not they say that's the problem. I'd say save your money and go Viofo.

      • the latest firmware update bricked the unit

I need a 2 piece set but I'm holding my breath because I want to do my research before spending $500 on a piece of crap.
But why did you need to upgrade the firmware?
Don't you know, if it works, don't touch it.

At a moment of weakness, or rather bordom I noticed the update and went for it. Instant regret and I thought the same thing when it happened, shouldn't have touched it! But in saying that, you would think spending upwards of $700 on a bloody dashcam would warrant higher quality. But yeah, nah.

Sometimes is does, sometimes it's just overpriced brand.
Nowadays everything you update it's a gamble so always check the benefits of it and especially check people's feedback.
My latest Oppo firmware only caused troubles, it was working just fine then the upgrade put more stupid user restrictions also installation loopholes.
Same thing with computers, always be careful.
